Defence Minister Nufi meets U.S. Under Secretary of War for Policy Elbridge A. Colby at the Pentagon

Defence Minister Ermal Nufi held a meeting at the Pentagon with U.S. Under Secretary of War for Policy Elbridge A. Colby.

The discussions focused on the security situation in the Euro-Atlantic area and the further strengthening of the strategic partnership between Albania and the United States.

Following the meeting, Minister Nufi described the exchange as constructive and underscored the importance of close coordination among allies in addressing the emerging challenges shaping the international security environment.

According to Minister Nufi, the partnership between Albania and the United States is built on shared values, mutual trust, and a longstanding commitment to peace, stability, and collective defence. He stressed that, in an increasingly complex security environment, coordinated action among allied nations remains essential to safeguarding common interests and strengthening transatlantic security.

“Albania deeply values the leadership and continued support of the United States and remains fully committed to its responsibilities as a reliable NATO Ally, contributing to a stronger, safer, and more united Alliance,” Minister Nufi stated following the meeting.

The Pentagon meeting took place as part of the Defence Minister’s official visit to the United States and reaffirmed the high level of relations between the two countries, as well as their shared commitment to enhancing security and stability throughout the Euro-Atlantic region.
