Today, it was presented the new Director of the Intelligence and Defence Security Agency (IDSA). At the ceremony organized on this occasion attended Defence Minister Mrs. Mimi Kodheli, Chief of General Staff of the Armed Forces, Major General Jeronim Bazo, as well as other senior officials of the Ministry of Defence and General Staff of the Armed Forces.

Defence Minister Kodheli thanked Brigadier General Ylber Dogjani, which has been so far in charge of the agency, for the work done leading this important institution, a task which, she noted, was carried out in a very difficult time. Minister Kodheli stressed that the management of this institution should be based only on law enforcement. “Law enforcement is the motto that should lead our daily work more than the others, because our mission is different from the others, it is as constitutional as noble. The work of this agency should serve its mission”, - underlined Mrs. Kodheli.

For Defence Minister Kodheli, IDSA should be not only the leadership of the institutions and agencies within the Ministry of Defence, but in its operating area, it will also be the leadership among agencies and other similar institution, as it should be a worthy partner with all the counterpart agencies within the Armed Forces of the NATO member and partner countries. “We changed the IDSA law, because we think it should be better targeted to areas defined by the law, without prejudice to other areas, without violating the laws as it has happened before, and increase the quality of work, given the geopolitical changes around us, which has led to increased risk the Armed Forces faces today”, said Mrs. Kodheli.

While presenting the head of the IDSA, Colonel Neshet Shena, Minister Kodheli said that on the top of this agency we have appointed one of the most prepared, devoted and respected colonels of the Armed Forces, who as new leader, with new energy, but also with our support, can continuously improve all what has been done so far.
