In the framework of National Teacher’s Day celebration that coincides with the 129th - anniversary of the First School of Albanian language “Mësonjëtorja”, Defence Minister Mrs. Kodheli met with the teaching staff of the Foreign Language Centre of the Armed Forces. In this meeting also participated the Chief of General Staff of Armed Forces Major General Jeronim Bazo, the Commander of Doctrine and Training Command Brigadier General Dede Prenga, the Rector of the Academy of Armed Forces Colonel Ruzhdi Kuçi and the director of the Center of Foreign Languages (CFL) Mr. Jaup Zenuni etc.

In her speech, Minister Kodheli praised the noble profession of teachers and considered it as equivalent to the parenting role. “The profession you have chosen is actually not a profession but an institution, which we have considered it equals to the parenting institution."

Minister Kodheli considered as irreplaceable the role of teachers, despite the technological developments. "Today things have changed. Also learning style has changed. Times have changed. The speed with which information is shared has increased immensely due to technology development. But in order to become an wise man, internet is not enough; globalization is not enough also the knowledge that you can get from it, in my opinion, is not enough, because it's a totally superficial method. The teacher, the professor remains irreplaceable. Deep basic learning is something that only you can pass it on to new generations. "- said Minister Kodheli, who considered as a necessity the mastering of a foreign language, especially English.

“We should understand how important the process of language learning is. "Especially when it comes to English, the language of Alliance where we belong proudly. A language without it nobody can do anything at a time while allies of NATO are in interaction, in joint missions, in joint operations, and the only thing besides military art that connects these structures, which is English." - Minister Kodheli closed her speech by wishing teachers’ holidays of 7 - 8 March.

Major General Bazo also expressed his gratitude to teachers of FLC by considering them as vicegerent of wisdom. “You deserve our gratitude that we fail to express it every day. At least on the day of March 7 we humble ourselves in gratitude against this noble work.” - He said.

In the end, Minister Kodheli and Major General Bazo distributed to the teachers of this center several certificates of gratitude for their contribution to the education of military and civil personnel of the Armed Forces.

Foreign Language Center arranges foreign language courses periodically during the year. In this center are taught six languages, English, French, Italian, German, Turkish and Greek for military and civil personnel of the Armed Forces and Ministry of Defence.
