Minister Kodheli gives a lecture at the International University of Struga

Defence Minister Mrs. Mimi Kodheli delivered a lecture to the students of the International University of Struga.
Initially she met the Rector of the International University of Struga, Prof. Dr. Bashkim Rama, as well as the teaching staff of the university.

The lecture given by Minister Kodheli was mainly concerned with the benefits of Albania’s membership in NATO and Macedonia's expectations on this journey. Speaking about the importance of Albania's membership in NATO, minister Kodheli outlined that national security created the most powerful guarantee possible.

During her speech, Minister Kodheli said that with the membership in the Alliance, Albania became a partner of governments of member states of NATO, with which has to discuss the perspectives and share the decision making. Perhaps unlike other countries in the region, the membership had greater importance, because this alliance, according to her, played a vital role in stopping the wars in the Balkans and especially in Kosovo's freedom and independence.

Speaking on the defense budget, minister Kodheli announced additional funding that precedes an important project for the country's security. "We will do a reallocation of funds and we as a ministry will benefit a considerable amount of money that will enable us to enter a major project, very important for us, for the security of Albania."

Minister Kodheli also answered the student’s questions regarding terrorist attacks, our membership in NATO and the membership in EU. The students were also interested in the establishment of the Excellence Center in Albania. Minister Kodheli stated that with this Center, Albania will leave its first “mark” in NATO.

During his stay in Struga, Mrs. Kodheli held a meeting with the leader of the Albanian political subject “Bashkimi Demoktratik per Integrim” mr. Ali Ahmeti, with who talked about the help that Albania will give to Macedonia to join NATO. Mrs. Kodheli  President of the Albanian political entity Democratic Union for Integration Mr. Ali Ahmeti, with whom discussed about helping Albania to Macedonia's membership in NATO. She Kodheli showed readiness to be a strong voice in the direction of continued assistance.

Also in the city of Struga, Minister Kodheli placed bouquets of flowers under the monument of the extremist opponent of the Ottoman Empire and author of  radical manifestation calls radical for a nation-wide war against the Ottoman Empire, Dervish Himasi and  the activist and outstanding personality of the Albanian National Renaissance Dr. Ibrahim Temo.
