Minister of Defence, mrs. Mimi Kodheli celebrated March 7th, Teacher’s Day with the teaching staff of the Armed Forces Academy, part of the Training and Doctrine Command of Armed Forces.
During her speech minister Kodheli congratulated and thanked all the teachers and pedagogues of this academy for their tireless work during the years.
“Some of us try to find the right words or expressions on this day, which we luckily have and know how to celebrate, and in our old tradition it continues to be a day when we remember our teachers and pedagogues, try turn our attention towards them, and of course make them happy sometimes, some even by giving them flowers”. – said the Minister.
Mrs. Kodheli chose to express her appreciation for the teachers through a proverb: Heroes are not the ones who wear a hat, but those who teach others”. Outlining that “in your case, you have both, by wearing a hat and teaching others. So consider yourselves twice the heroes and I believe this is the best compliment that I can make as Minister of the institution”.
The Minister of Defence invited again all the academics, who have invested many years of their lives in this profession, to return and give teaching another quality in this academy. Another key element where mrs. Kodheli stopped within the teaching quality improvement was the improvement of the teaching curricula. “Your passion and experience are not enough, the curricula should be improved every year, the teaching level should be improved and increased. We have enough materials, literature and lessons from the activities of ally countries, specially from NATO, which can help us with the establishment” – added minister Kodheli.
At the end of her speech, Minister of Defence Kodheli appreciated TRADOC describing it as a very important structure, from which every person who wants to get a rank promotion should pass and wants to be part of the AF. Mrs. Kodheli insisted that the inflation of awarding academic and scientific titles, and promotion to a higher scientific degree should stop.
The Minister of Defence thanked all the pedagogues and leading staff of the Academy for their tireless work that have done throughout the years in educating the new generations of the Armed Forces.
During this activity the Commander of TRADOC, Brigadier General Manushaqe Shehu valued the work of this team and thanked Minister Kodheli for attending.
