The Joint Exercise “Durrësi SAREX ‘17” took place

In the framework for the development of the main training activities of the Armed Forces, on May 10 and 11, 2017, at the Cape Pali, Durrës was held the Joint Exercise “Durrësi SAREX ‘17”.

The institutional training "Durrësi SAREX ‘17" was attended by the General Staff Director, Brigadier General Tonin Marku, Force Commanders and representatives of the participating institutions in this exercise, who closely followed the most important process of the "Durrësi SAREX ‘17" training.

The participants were: Naval Force, which is operating in this exercise with five ships, the Air Force with a helicopter, Land Force with a group of the Special Battalion, Durrës Border and Migration Police and Navy Anti-Smuggling Unit, each with a seagoing vessel, and also the personnel from the National Search and Rescue Center and the Interinstitutional Maritime Operational Centre.

The conductor of the training, First Captain Subi Zenelaj said, among other things, that "Such exercises are very important as they serve to increase cooperation with institutions by implementing the Maritime Law".

“Durrësi SAREX ‘17” Exercise involved participating institutions in joint activities for carrying out Search and Rescue Operations (SAR) in response to various disasters or humanitarian crisis and the enforcement of the Maritime Law.

Its main purpose is to increase coordination and cooperation with other institutions that have interests in the maritime area, gaining vantage in stopping illegal activity and responding to crisis or different marine situations.
