Defence Minister Mimi Kodheli inspected the Armed Forces cleaning up action in the Gjirokastra - Kakavija axis. She is accompanied by the Minister of Culture Mirela Kumbaro and County Prefect Flamur Bime.
In her speech, Minister Kodheli called on citizens and local government to pay special attention to the surrounding environment: "I would humbly seek Albanians entering the territory of Albania for tourism or for other reasons, to treat the country as they treat their homes, throw the waste where it is appropriate. And I have a strong call for local government. It should be more present, at least to support the AF, without saying that it should do its duty."
On her part, Minister Kumbaro thanked the Armed Forces for the cleaning action and joined Kodheli's call for local government: "I join Mimi Kodheli's call to local government and the entire community to be all careful, firstly, to do the job and secondly, to create a model of environmental maintenance education"- she concluded.
The County Prefect Flamur Bime thanked the Minister of Defense for the support given, as well as the officers, commanders and soldiers for the unremitting and qualitative work.
In the action for cleaning up the national axis Gjirokastra – Kakavija, effectives from the b3k of Poshnja and the Regional Support Battalion of Gjirokastra were engaged.
From the beginning of this cleaning up action, which will continue throughout July, the FA has removed more than 500 tonnes of waste from the main national and coastal axes.
