Minister of Defense, Mrs. Mimi Kodheli, the Deputy Chief of Staff of the Albanian Armed Forces, Brigadier General Dedë Prenga and high officials of the Ministry of Defense and General Staff were present in the promotion ceremony as brigadier general of Bajram Begaj conducted in the premises of the General Staff of the Armed Forces.

Based on the fact that it is the first time a doctor of the Armed Forces is promoted a general, Minister Kodheli considered this something special.

In her address Minister Kodheli expressed her gratitude and respect for Brig. Gen. Bajram Begaj and his professional achievements. She also stressed the need the Armed Forces have for professionals of all fields. She concluded by stressing that: “The Army needs well - educated people, people mastering degrees and titles, proficient and professional people, who go beyond the military profession, for expertise of different specialties.”

For Mrs. Kodheli skillful people are always welcomed in the bosom of the Ministry of Defense and the Armed Forces and their figure should be heightened.

At the end of the ceremony, Brigadier General Bajram Begaj cordially thanked Minister Kodheli for her assessment and recollected the beginning of his military career. He conclude by saying: ”There was a time when the Ministry of Defense sent people in high schools to promote the Army as an important place for education and the I was one of the young people who requested to join the army. The commission from the military branch office, which consisted of three people, at first refused my application because I was not tall enough to meet the standard.”

At the end he promised that he will be highly committed to fulfill the duty.
