In the early hours of the morning, the Defense Minister Olta Xhacka, accompanied by the head of the Municipality Fier, Armando Subashi, was in Darëzezë, Fier, closely monitoring the hydropower situation after the heavy rains.

Given the serious situation created by the destruction of the Vjosa River embankment, after two o'clock in the morning of Sunday, Minister Xhaçka is headed for Darëzezë, where the situation is critical but under control as there have been taken all the necessary measures to secure the residents.

“It is important that all measures have been taken to warn all the residents of this area, especially the 400 families who are at risk because of the malfunction of the hydropower. Measures have to be taken to alert them that they should evacuate, or take away the livestock, or take any other measure which can prevent anything that may happen. Luckily the situation until now seems to be under control. We hope that the situation in the coming hours will improve, so that nothing happens. The reason why we are all here 24/24 with the prefect and the mayor, the emergency headquarters and the Armed Forces so that we make sure that we take all the measures so that the situation does not deteriorate or get out of control. I wish we are all well and this is why we are all on the move to ensure this happens ", - said Defense Minister.

Meanwhile, in Darëzezë, from yesterday evening there are 40 Armed Forces officers ready to intervene in case of need.
