Military families provide aid to flood affected population, Xhaçka: AAF engaged in the post-emergency management phase

Not only the Armed Forces, but also their families have come together to help flood affected people. Through an initiative undertaken by the AAF, by means of a financial contribution, they have assisted more than 200 families. Assistance, which consists of clothing, food, detergents and monetary value, will be distributed to families who need support during these difficult days.

Defense Minister Olta Xhaçka, said that after facing the emergency, this is another stage, where AAF are once again engaged. "I am very pleased to be part of this initiative, which is in fact an initiative of the AAF's effectives, to manage, along with 16 European countries, thirteen international organizations, dozens of private companies, hundreds of citizens who have contributed to help affected residents. This help today is a modest one, but very significant, aid of our effectives with all those who want to give a hand and help rehabilitate all the population affected by the flood." - said Minister Xhaçka, who stressed the commitment of the Armed Forces even in the rehabilitation and recovery phase of the affected areas. "We will not stop here! We will all be engaged in the post - emergency management phase, reconstructing bridges and infrastructure damaged during the floods, to ensure the mobility and daily lives of all those affected citizens "- underlined Minister Xhacka.

Attending the event was also the Chief of General Staff of the Armed Forces, Brigadier General Bardhyl Kollçaku, who thanked both military and civilians for their contribution. "Today we are here to speak about a act of solidarity and humanity of the civilian and military personnel of the Ministry of Defense and the Armed Forces to help the flood affected population. They are donations collected by simple soldiers, non-commissioned officers, and officers, civilians who may not have a big wallet, but have a great heart to aid them and help relieve their pain." - he said.

Fundamental aid for residents of areas affected by the recent floods has been collected by every structure or department of the Armed Forces and will be distributed by the Support Command.
