Armed Forces at the fourth week of litter collection

Minister Kodheli:This country needs projects, but also to strengthen more sanctions and spirit of rebuke, to increase the general opinion and everyone’s action.
It is the fourth consecutive Saturday the Armed Forces, after the declaration by the Inter-ministerial Committee of civil emergency on the environmental situation, are committed to the operation of litter collection in the whole country. Today, over 1,100 troops and 100 vehicles of the Armed Forces structures concentrated along the national roads Fier-Levan-Kakavija-Tepelenë-Gjirokastra. The Armed Forces operation, for the litter collection in these roads, was followed closely by the Defence Minister Mrs. Mimi Kodheli and Chief of General Staff of the Armed Forces, Major General Jeronim Bazo. They stopped at the border crossing point in Kakavija, where troops and vehicles were engaged for the litter collection in this road segment and surrounding territory.

Defence Minister Kodheli chairs US-Adriatic Charter (A5) Meeting in Brussels

In the context of the participation at the NATO defence ministers meeting, which is being held in Brussels on 26-27 February 2014, the Minister of Defence, Mrs. Mimi Kodheli participated at the US-Adriatic Charter (A5) Ministerial. The ministerial was chaired by Mrs. Kodheli for our country has the presidency of the initiative in 2014.
In her opening remarks, Defence Minister Kodheli expressed satisfaction for the participation of all the defence ministers of the Adriatic Charter member countries, and for the organization of this meeting in NATO HQs, which carries a special symbolic, closely related to one of the fundamental principles of A5 Initiative: Euro-Atlantic Integration of the region.

Defence Minister Kodheli at the NATO Defence Ministers meetings in Brussels

The Minister of Defence, Mrs. Mimi Kodheli is taking part at the Defence Ministerial of NATO member countries being held in Brussels.
At the ministerial will be discussed important issues related to developments inside NATO, such as: situation in Ukraine, restructuring and reduction, finances, Alliance’s expectations from the NATO Summit in Wells, 04-05 September 2014; Defence capacity building; challenges the Alliance is facing in Afghanistan, etc.

Minister Kodheli inspects the inter-institutional exercise “Seagull 14-01”

Defence Minister Mrs. Mimi Kodheli inspected today the joint exercise conducted by the Simulation Centre and Inter-institutional Maritime Operational Centre (IMOC), encoded “Seagull 14-01”. Minister Kodheli was briefed by the leaders of this exercise about the aim, scenarios, preparation phase, participants and goals of this exercise. She also assessed the high level of responsibility and professionalism of the participants and encouraged the increase of the exercises range with these important institutions.

Minister Kodheli takes part at the Regional Conference, Adriatic Charter

Defence Minister Mrs. Mimi Kodheli took part at the Regional Conference, Adriatic Charter, on the topic: “Strengthening of the Interparliamentarian cooperation as a guarantee to the success of U.S. – Adriatic Charter”.
This conference was organized by the Parliament of Albania with the participation of delegations from the countries of the region: Bosnia and Herzegovina, Croatia, Serbia, Montenegro, Macedonia, Kosovo and Civil Society.
Present at the start of the conference proceedings were: the Speaker of the Parliament of Albania, Mr. Ilir Meta, Minister of Foreign Affairs, Mr. Ditmir Bushati, U.S. Ambassador in Tirana, Mr. Alexander Arvizu, the Chairman of the Parliamentary National Security Committee, Mr. Spartak Braho and many other guests.
