The General Staff of the Armed Forces, the Land Force Command based on the daily communications with Albania’s peacekeeping missions throughout the world, were informed today about an incident that has happened to “Eagle 8” mission.
The incident occurred at 16:20 local time in Spin Boldak, Kandahar.
New ship added to our Naval Force

At the Pashaliman Naval Base in Vlora, it took place today the launching ceremony of the ship “Butrinti”, which was built in the Pashaliman shipyard, based on the contract with the Dutch company “Damen Shipyards”. This ceremony was attended Deputy Minister of Defence, Mr. Dritan Hila, Chief of General Staff of the Armed Forces, Major General Jeronim Bazo, senior officials of the Ministry of Defence and General Staff, and many other guests. The ceremony was also attended by the UK Ambassador in Tirana, Mr. Nicholas Cannon, Ambassador of the Kingdom of the Netherlands, Mr. Martin de la Beij and representatives of “Damen Shipyards”.
Meeting on the U.S. Security Assistance Management Review

It has begun today the meeting on the U.S. Security Assistance Management Review organized in the framework of bilateral military cooperation between the Armed Forces of the Republic of Albania and Armed Forces of the United States of America. The event was attended by Deputy Minister of Defence, Mr. Dritan Hila, Chief of General Staff of the Armed Forces, Major General Jeronim Bazo, directors and militaries of the Ministry of Defence, General Staff and Armed Forces. The event was also attended by the Chief of ODC (Office of Defence Cooperation), Major Kristopher S. Mitchell, and other representatives of ODC.
Defence Minister Kodheli held meeting with Minister of Defence of Lithuania, Mr. Jouzas Olekas

Defence Minister Mrs. Mimi Kodheli, who is in an official visit to Lithuania on the occasion of the conference “NATO Open Door: Ten Years after the ‘Big Bang’”, taking place in Vilnius, held this morning meeting with the Minister of National Defence of Lithuania, Mr. Jouzas Olekas.
Both counterparts discussed about the further deepening and intensification of cooperation between our two countries. This cooperation is most needed in the present situation.

Defence Minister Mrs. Mimi Kodheli is on an official visit to Lithuania on the occasion of the conference “NATO Open Door: Ten Years after the ‘Big Bang’”, which is being held in Vilnius, Lithuania on April 3-4.
The conference is attended by the Defence and Foreign Ministers of: Belgium, Georgia, Slovenia, Baltic countries, U.S-Adriatic Charter (A-5) member and observer countries.
