Defence Minister Mr. Peleshi and the Chief of AAFGS Major General Begaj host in a meeting the Commander of the NATO Joint Air Operations Center

Defence Minister Niko Peleshi accompanied by the Chief of General Staff of the Armed Forces, Major General Assoc. Prof. Bajram Begaj, hosted in a meeting the Commander of the NATO Joint Air Operations Center, Lieutenant General Fernando De La Cruz Caravaca, who is paying an official visit to Albania.

Minister Peleshi thanked General Caravaca for the work he and his staff are doing for the NATO airspace surveillance and policing, and in particular, thanked our neighbors, Italy and Greece, for their contribution to our country's airspace policing.

Armed Forces effective participate in the "Tirana Marathon – 2021”

A team out of more than 100 effective from Albanian Armed Forces were part of the "Tirana Marathon - 2021", activity organized by the Municipality of Tirana.

The participants in this marathon competed in all disciplines (10 km, 21 km and 42 km), distinguishing themselves for the spirit of the race and high discipline.

During October, Breast Cancer Awareness Month, young ladies and women in uniform will have the opportunity, to perform the examination at the Health Center in the "Skënderbej" Garrison, where a mobile mammography unit is located.

The Deputy Minister of Defense, Dallëndyshe Bici, accompanied by the Deputy Chief of the General Staff of the Armed Forces, Major General Manushaqe Shehu, were present at this health centre, where the examinations are still continuing.

Air Force personnel getting trained on ground-to-air communication system, Peleshi: It is essential for civil emergencies to be operative in December

Air Force personnel has started a 4-week training on the ground-to-air radio communication systems. Defence Minister Niko Peleshi, while greeting the staff at the Farka Air Base, inquired them to learn as much as possible from this training, as it is very important for the future, to keep the system operational at all times.

"I have only one request that the configuration of this ground-air communication system, to be 100% effective, as we have planned, in December. To learn as much as possible from this training and to be able to update it whenever necessary and with our own resources, not to wait for the contractor”.

October 13th as the International Day of Disaster Reduction, "All together for Civil Protection" activity

For the second year in a row, the National Agency of Civil Protection in the framework of the "International Day of Disaster Reduction", in cooperation with the Albanian Red Cross, United Nations Development Program (UNDP), World Vision Albania, prefectures, municipalities, as well as the Ministry of Education and Health, reintroduces to 12 schools in the country, the activity with the theme "All together for Civil Protection".

As initiated by the convening of the United Nations General Assembly in 1989, to have a day where society's global attention will be focused on the opportunity and ability of people or communities around the world to reduce their exposure to disasters, October 13^th was observed as a day that serves to raise awareness and the importance of risk prevention to these disasters.
