The Armed Forces continue from the north to the south to engage in the extinction of the fires

Albania's Armed Forces continue intensifying the efforts to extinguish the fires that have covered some of the country's districts which are favored by high temperatures, wind and difficult terrain.

Yesterday, 236 Armed Forces, part of the Support Command and Land Force, 15 vehicles, 4 firefighter engines and 3 ambulances were engaged in firefighting operations.

Minister Kodheli thanks AF for their engagement in extinguishing the fire in Kuç of Vora

Defense Minister Mimi Kodheli, accompanied by the Deputy of the area, Mr. Sadi Vorpsi, inspected the work of the Armed Forces to extinguish fires at Kuçi, Vora.

In her speech for the media, Ms. Kodheli stressed that the fires are intentional and ruin Albania's image, just as they spoil the citizens' possessions, as it has ruined everything that was built with much effort and sweat.

Talking about the situation at the site, Minister Kodheli stressed the danger posed by the fire in that area and called on the people to support and cooperate with the authorities. "Near the fire there is a fireworks factory and a military unit with ammunition, both of which are at risk. These two facilities are not at risk anymore with the intervention by the AF and the CE.

About 200 effective of Armed Forces in terrain to extinguish fires

The Armed Forces of the Republic of Albania continue their commitment to the extinction of fires in all regions of the country.

Only over the past 24 hours, about 200 Armed Forces (Support Command and Land Force), 11 transport vehicles and 2 ambulances have been engaged in extinguishing fires in several districts.

Throughout the present day, the Armed Forces are engaged in Gjinar (Elbasan district); Finiq (Saranda Municipality), Vlora district; Mount Derjes (Dajti), Tirana and Ulëz (Mat).

Following closely the situation in the country, the Armed Forces will continue to remain alert and ready to intervene where necessary.

Minister Kodheli promotes Brigadier General Bardhyl Kollçaku

In the premises of the General Staff of the Armed Forces was held the promotion ceremony of Brigadier General Bardhyl Kollçaku, to whom was conferred the high rank by the Decree of the President of the Republic, upon the proposal of the Minister of Defense.

At this ceremony were present the Defense Minister Mimi Kodheli, Deputy Defense Minister Mr. Petro Koci, Deputy Chief of General Staff of the Armed Forces, Brigadier General Dedë Prenga, Commanders of Force, as well as senior military and other guests.

Minister Kodheli on the situation of fires: we have engaged 40 percent of the Armed Forces

The Minister of Defense, Ms. Mimi Kodheli, accompanied by the General Director of Civil Emergencies, Mr. Shemsi Prençi, held today a press conference about the situation caused by the fires and the commitment of the Armed Forces to extinguish them.
