Activity on occasion of the 546th anniversary of the death of national hero, Gjergj Kastrioti Skënderbeu

On the occasion of the 546th anniversary of the death of the national hero, Gjergj Kastrioti Skënderbeu, the Centre of Culture, Media and Defence Publications (CCMDP) organized on Saturday, in the cinema hall of the Ministry of Defence, the show of the film “Skënderbeu”.

The show of the film “Skënderbeu” marked the opening of the activities and events planned for 2014 by the Centre of Culture, Media and Defence Publications. The centre have scheduled a series of cultural, artistic and sports events, which will reflect the Defence Directive of 2014, and a series of other programs and activities which will promote the Ministry of Defence and General Staff of the Armed Forces this year. The scheduled activities will have an extension throughout 2014, aiming to sustain the cultural life of the Armed Forces personnel.

The film “Skënderbeu” was followed with great interest by the families and children of the servicemen, as well as children who are trained in various courses by the CCMDP’s Recreation Centre, serving to their patriotic education with the glorious history of our people, and especially with the legendary figure of our national hero, Skënderbeu.

The activities scheduled will continue with show of films dedicated to other historical figures, such as Ismail Qemali; in February, it will be held the first edition of the Military Documentary Film Festival with the participation of representatives from other NATO countries; following this event, it will take place the second edition of the Military Music Formations Festival; the festive concert on the occasion of the 5th anniversary of our country’s membership in NATO, as well as numerous sport activities.
