Minister Xhaçka welcomes her counterpart Quni: There is no stabilized region without Kosovo's integration

Albania will continue to be the best protector of the Republic of Kosovo’s interests in Euro-Atlantic structures.

The confirmation comes after the visit of Kosovo’s Minister of Defense Anton Quni to Tirana, who was received by the Minister of Defense Olta Xhaçka.

Minister Xhaçka congratulated her counterpart Quni on his new assignment and assured him of the Albanian government's unstinting support for Kosovo, co-operation in the field of Security and Defense, and the integration processes of the Republic of Kosovo. Here are some of the topics which have been discussed by the two delegations.

"I want to underline something that I have said in every international forum, something that Prime Minister Rama has repeated whenever he has had the opportunity and that has long been the official position of Albania: The effort to stabilize and develop our region can never be successful without Kosovo's full integration into Euro-Atlantic structures. Starting with NATO membership and then continuing with European Union integration. Politically, diplomatically, and technically, we will stand side by side to our brothers, sharing all of Albania's experience with NATO integration”, - said Minister Xhaçka.

On his part, Minister Quni praised Albania's role in protecting the interests of the Republic of Kosovo, considering our country as the best partner.

"You are our guide to Euro-Atlantic integration in the field of security and military and with full conviction, I say that we consider you as the best ambassador in terms that Kosovo Security Forces tomorrow will be side by side with all those forces that conduct various activities to help all those citizens who need security and peace. I don't know if there is a better address where we can ask for cooperation than the Ministry of Defense of the Republic of Albania." - Minister Quni emphasized.

Under the initiative of Minister Xhaçka, the Ministry of Defense of Albania and that of the Republic of Kosovo will open a new and very intensive chapter of cooperation in the field of Defense, which begins with the negotiation in the shortest possible time of a new basic agreement between the two ministries, which, as Minister Xhaçka said, hopes to sign during the next visit to Pristina.
