24 forces engaged on the ground, who fought the fires were decorated

 

Prime Minister Edi Rama honored 24 members of the Armed Forces, State Police, National Civil Protection Agency and fire services, engaged on the ground, who distinguished themselves in rescue operations in the national fight against wildfires in several areas of the country.

He emphasized that the Civil Protection Mechanism from the most remote village to the center of Tirana was able and knew how to give its best.

The Prime Minister confirmed that Albania would begin building its own fleet, starting with two firefighting aircraft.

With proposals from Defense Minister Pirro Vengu and  Home Affairs Minister Ervin Hoxha, 3 members were decorated with the Medal of “Star of Public Gratitude”, 10 members with the Gold Medal for “Professional Appreciation”, 7 members with the Silver Medal for “Professional Appreciation” and 4 members with the Bronze Medal for “Professional Appreciation”.

The decorated military members, police officers, firefighters, doctors, and civil emergency personnel who demonstrated dedication and selflessness in carrying out their life-saving missions were honored for special merits and extraordinary commitment during firefighting operations, risking their lives to protect citizens.
