The campaign for early breast cancer screening concluded with an awareness activity organized at the Northern Infantry Regiment in Vau i Dejës.
The event highlighted the importance of interinstitutional cooperation between health structures and the Armed Forces in protecting public health. Participants emphasized the vital message of early detection in the fight against breast cancer.
Defence Minister Vengu underlined his vision for military bases to serve as health care centers, offering preventive services not only to women in uniform but also to the surrounding communities.
Health Minister Sala praised the contribution of women serving in uniform, stressing that the National Breast Cancer Screening Program continues throughout the year because prevention saves lives.
Between January and October 2025, around 16,000 mammograms were performed through both stationary and mobile health services.
The event served as a concrete example of how the missions of these two key institutions intertwine in the service of national security and well-being.
