New Commander for the Land Force

Major General Petrit Çuni has officially assumed the duty of Commander of the Land Force, a position handed over by Major General Ilir Xhebexhia, the former Commander of this force.
During 2025, over 500 Albanian troops have served in NATO and EU missions in Kosovo, Latvia, Bulgaria, and Bosnia and Herzegovina, demonstrating Albania as a reliable ally with tangible contributions.
In 2026, a major challenge will be the preparation and CREVAL evaluation of the Light Infantry Battalion Group.
By 2029, the government’s focus is the progressive increase of military personnel salaries to reach the average level of NATO countries.
