During the ceremony held in Zall-Herr, Defence Minister Pirro Vengu described the delivery as an important milestone in strengthening the country’s defence capabilities and as a “message of strategic clarity” in Albania’s partnership with the United States, emphasizing that Albania invests in defence for deterrence, not aggression.
U.S. Chargé d’Affaires in Tirana Nancy VanHorn described the provision of the “Javelin” system as a testament to the commitment to regional security and the strengthening of the NATO Alliance.
The “Javelin” system is advanced U.S. military technology capable of top-attack strikes against armored vehicles and represents a step forward in the long-term strategy to modernize Albania’s Armed Forces.
