The U.S.-Adriatic Charter Defense Ministerial concludes in Tirana. Minister Vengu: Albania supports the Open Door Policy, with Kosovo's membership as a priority

Defense ministers from U.S.-Adriatic Charter (A-5) member and observer countries gathered in Tirana to discuss key defense and security issues for the Western Balkans. The meeting was co-chaired by Albania's Minister of Defense, Pirro Vengu, and U.S. Assistant Secretary of Defense Celeste Wallander.

In a special ceremony, Arben Kingji was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant General, following a decree from the President of the Republic. The promotion was presented by Defence Minister Pirro Vengu.
Minister Vengu praised Kingji for his career, noting his successful service in various roles, from Afghanistan to commanding the Land Force.
He highlighted that this third star, awarded after almost 15 years, was well deserved. The Minister emphasized Kingji’s character and dedication to defending national interests and modernizing the Armed Forces.

Security challenges will be discussed at the U.S.-Adriatic Charter (A-5) Defense Ministerial, held in Tirana from December 3 to 5

From December 3 to 5, the Defense Ministerial will be held in Tirana as part of the U.S.-Adriatic Charter Initiative (A-5). This important event is also part of Albania's commitments to this initiative.
High-level representatives from the U.S., Bosnia and Herzegovina, Croatia, Slovenia, North Macedonia, Montenegro, Kosovo, and Serbia are expected to attend. U.S. Assistant Secretary of Defense for International Security Affairs, Ms. Celeste Wallander, will also be present at the meeting.

The Armed Forces organized a demonstration in the city of Vlora on the occasion of the 112th Anniversary of Independence

The pilots and onboard technicians of the Cougar helicopter conducted a demonstration flight, flying over Flag Square where the 112th Anniversary of Independence Ceremony was taking place, while waving the national flag. They continued along the promenade and flew towards Orikum.

XVI Contingent deploys to Latvia, Minister Vengu: EOD is a national asset

At the Support Command, a ceremony was held for the departure of the XVI EOD Contingent, consisting of 21 servicemembers, who will join NATO’s Enhanced Forward Presence mission as part of the multinational brigade in Camp Adazi, Latvia.
