The Academy of the Armed Forces reopened the studies at the bachelor level after 10 years of interruption. 60 young men and women started their studies this Monday at the Faculty of Defense and Security.
In the ceremony held on this occasion, Defense Minister Olta Xhaçka noted that it took a lot of effort and determination to reopen the Academy of the Armed Forces, the closure of which, as she pointed out, was one of the most incomprehensible catastrophes of the transition.

The library of the Armed Forces Academy is enriched on the eve of the new academic year, which after a 10-year break will welcome the cadets to attend the bachelor cycle in military sciences.
The Academy of Sciences donated 220 titles and about 600 copies of books, which are added to the fund of 8 thousand titles of the Library of the Academy of the Armed Forces.
2021 Defense Budget, Xhaçka: 11.8% higher than in 2020; in Albania the largest exercise ever

The budget of the Ministry of Defense for 2021 compared to the 2020 has been increased by 2.7 billion lek i.e. 11.8% more than in 2020.
The Defense Minister, Olta Xhaçka, during a hearing session in the Parliamentary Committee on National Security, emphasized that the draft budget dedicated to Defense for the next year continues to grow and it serves to strengthen and increase the capacities of the Armed Forces.
"This budget continues the growth trend both in nominal value and as a percentage of Gross Domestic Product. So, if for 2020 we had a budget of 1.46% of Gross Domestic Product, for 2021 the budget reaches 1.5% of GDP, which fully meets our objectives and commitments at the Wales Summit to reach 1.75% in 2022, and 1.85% of GDP in the budget of 2023 ", - said Xhaçka.
Military Police's Exercise "Limani 20" took place

From 12 to 23 October 2020, the Second Operational Company of the Military Police conducted the Military Exercise "Limani 20" at Pashalimani Naval Base.
In this annual exercise also participates the boarding group of the Albanian Naval Force.
Approving the draft law “On the ratification of the Agreement for technical support between the Prime Minister of the Republic of Albania and the NATO AMP for the implementation of Kuçova projects funded by the NATO IP for Security, 2019-2022”

I would like to briefly say a few words about the draft law that we are voting on today, as I believe that all colleagues are familiar with the content of this draft law and also with the modernization of Kuçova Base, and I believe that they support it as strongly as I do.
Precisely, the draft law “On the ratification of the Agreement for technical support between the Council of Ministers of the Republic of Albania and the NATO Support and Procurement Agency for the implementation of the Kuçova Projects, funded by the NATO Investment Program for Security, for the years 2019-2022” paves the way for the implementation of the project for the modernization of the Kuçova Base and its transformation into a tactical NATO air base.
