Flooding in Shkodër, Armed Forces aid the local population

With the intensification of the rain and the increase of the water level in nën-Shkodra area, the Armed Forces have increased their efforts in aiding the local population using sailing vehicles from the Regional Support Battalion and high vehicles from the 1st Infantry Battalion.
The AAF personnel assisted in the transportation of the local population regarding their daily routine, and evacuation or transportation of people with health problems. Such was the case of a 5-year-old girl who needed medical aid. The troops of the Regional Support Battalion helped with the transportation from Obot village to the main road, where an autoambulance was waiting.

Defence Minister Niko Peleshi, the Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development Milva Ekonomi, and the Mayor of Durrës, Emiriana Sako, were in Durrës to closely monitor the situation.

The Ministry of Defence and the General Staff of the Albanian Armed Forces announce that yesterday, at 22:40 local time in Afghanistan, a serviceman with initials XH.J. lost his life.

Armed Forces are going to be better equipped for coping with the flood. USA Government has donated to Albania Armed Forces new and modern equipment in order to cope with flood more efficiently.
The USA ambassador handed over the equipment to the Chief of General Staff Bajram Begaj and the Support Command Brigadier General Ndriçim Sallaku.
