According to the latest data from the National Operational Center of Civil Emergencies, during the last 24 hours, 20 wildfires were brought under control, 10 of which were more problematic. Two wildfires have been extinguished in the Vlora distrct, the one in the village of Qesarat and in the olive hills of Pusi i Mezinit in the Vlora district.
In the district of Durrës, the outbreak has been neutralized in "Makaresh", the area of Krasta, in the village of Bize, for which the fight had been going on for two days, in the old cemetery of Durrës as well as in the Bay of Lalzi, avoiding risks for residential areas.
The situation is calmer even in a hearth in the village of Patin in Klos. An wildfire reported in Vorë in Marikaj village and Dushk village in Lushnje municipality has been extinguished.The work continues since the early hours of the morning on the mountain slope in Balldren, where we already have a normalized situation, in the village of Shetaj in Durrës, in the village of Lgjin in Orosh of Mirdita, where a hearth has been activated again, as well as in the village of Lekbibaj in Tropoja .
During the two months of the summer season, June - July, due to the high temperatures that have engulfed the entire region of Europe, 220 wildfires have appeared throughout the country in 42 municipalities of the country.
The prefectures that had the highest number of wildfire outbreaks were Fieri, Shkodra, Vlora and Tirana.
In the management of fire situations, during this period, a total of 3,088 forces and 320 vehicles were engaged. Namely from the Armed Forces, the Firefighter Forces, the State Police, volunteer forces, troops of the National Agency of Protected Areas, the Forest Service, as well as employees of local government.
In two firefighting operations, the National Agency for Civil Protection has turned to the European Mechanism for Civil Protection for assistance. All structures of the Civil Defense system are in full readiness with all ground and air capacities.
We call on citizens to consider themselves part of the Civil Defense, to be careful and to report fires in time, in order to prevent them from spreading to larger areas. Cooperate with the local government, notify the firefighters as soon as possible! Deliberate or careless fires are punishable by law.
