Kosovo Chamber of Commerce provides 100 tons of humanitarian relief aid for the families affected by the earthquake

4 trucks and lorries and 3 buses as well arrived in Albania accompanied by the Chairman of the Kosovo Chamber of Commerce, Mr. Berat Rukiqi, in aid of earthquake affected people on November 26th.

The humanitarian aid provided by private entities belonging to the Kosovo Chamber of Commerce consists of 100 tons of half cooked food, hygiene products, clothing and blankets.

Minister Xhaçka spells out the casualties, calls on citizens: Do not go back to the damaged dwellings!

This is the most difficult communication that an Albanian state official can ever wish for.

The earthquake of November 26th was a really serious event. It has caused fear and anxiety, sensations that are felt every time the Earth trembles, as it did a few minutes ago. It has caused massive damage, which will take time to recover but we will recover. The dwellings will be rebuilt; businesses will restart; life will resume for all citizens. You will have all our support, all the support of the Albanian state, international partners, Albanian citizens, to overcome this difficult situation and to start from scratch.

Earthquake, SAR operations specialists from Allied and Partner countries provide assistance

Following the serious situation created by the earthquake of 6.4 Richter magnitude scale, which hit our country in the early hours of November 26th, with the epicenter in the coast of Durrës, over 200 SAR specialists from allied and partner countries of NATO, have arrived hour after hour in Albania to assist our teams in this difficult situation.

Specialists from the EU, Greece, Turkey, France, Italy, Croatia, Romania, Switzerland, the US, Montenegro, Northern Macedonia, Kosovo and Serbia are providing specialized assistance in SAR operations.

The most powerful earthquake since 1979, Xhaçka: Our priority is to save every single life that can be saved

Last night has been a difficult one and I know that today, many citizens are anxiously and fearfully waiting what may happen tonight. I pray for as much calmness as possible in order to avoid any injury that comes not from the earthquake, but from the panic.

We are doing all we can, we are doing our duty as Government to address the aggravated situation in earthquake-prone areas. The whole state is standing by Search and Rescue (SAR) teams, Military and Police servicemen, doctors, prefects, mayors, MPs, the entire Government Cabinet, and hundreds of hundreds of citizens who are showing their solidarity by giving their tireless help and unsparing support.
