After 3 years and about 13,000 of patrolling hours in the Aegean Sea, the Navy has completed its contribution to NATO's “Sea Guardian " mission in the Aegean Sea.
The last contingent on board of the "Oriku" ship came home. It was held a welcoming ceremony attended by Defence Minister Olta Xhaçka, Chief of the General Staff of the Armed Forces, Brigadier General Bardhyl Kollçaku, Deputy Commander of the Navy, Captain 1st rank Artur Meçollari, senior Armed Forces military representatives and relatives at Durrës Port.

Minister Xhaçka holds bilateral meetings with Adriatic Charter countries, appreciations on Initiative Chairmanship

In the framework of hosting the US Adriatic Charter Ministerial in our country, a part of time was dedicated to bilateral meetings between the participating countries.
The Defence Minister Olta Xhaçka, held bilateral meetings with the US Deputy Assistant Secretary of Defense for Russian, Ukrainian, and Eurasian affairs Ms. Laura Cooper. The main themes of the meeting were related to the invaluable help and support that the USA gives to our country and not only.

Defence Ministers of the Adriatic Charter A-5 were committed to build joint capacities against natural disasters. In the final statement of the meeting in Tirana, the Ministers of the Adriatic Charter countries, urged by the consequences of the November 26 earthquake disaster in Albania, expressed their solidarity for these difficult times. The A-5 Ministers agreed to support the membership of all Southeast European countries in Euro-Atlantic structures.

Adriatic Charter Ministerial in Albania, Xhaçka: “Open Door Policy” our main priority

The USA - Adriatic Charter countries have expressed their solidarity and full support for Albania in these difficult days, as result of the dreadful earthquake that struck the county on 26 November. The Defence Minister Olta Xhaçka, as the chairperson of the initiative for 2019, welcomed the senior representatives of the participating countries. Also, in this meeting was present the US Deputy Assistant Secretary of Defence for Russia, Ukraine and Eurasia Laura Cooper.
