Voluntary contributions to help the families affected by the earthquake

The Albanian Government through www.e-albania.al/donate provides the opportunity for any donated funds to go into the bank account of the Ministry of Finance and Economy and to be used by the Civil Emergencies to assist the families affected by the earthquake.

The procedure is very simple. You can fill in your personal information as your name, surname, e-mail, before proceeding with setting up a donation value, which then passes through the bank payment platform via your credit or debit card

Earthquake rattles the country, Xhaçka: Unfortunately there are casualties, but the whole country is standing up

 Dear citizens,

This is a hard time for all Albanians, whether they are in areas that were hit by the powerful earthquake, or in safe areas with no consequences.

The event is very serious indeed. The situation is difficult. Unfortunately, there were not only many damaged buildings but also many injured people and casualties as well. So far, 7 citizens have been confirmed to have lost their lives. It is our hope and the prayer of every Albanian citizen that this number does not increase further. Our hearts and minds are with all those citizens who have not been able to restore contact with their relatives yet.

"Eye of the Sky" Memorial erected in memory of the 23 fallen in Llogara tragedy


23 persons, including doctors, nurses, pilots and students who died 30 years ago in Himara, will now have a Memorial near the Artificial Lake in Tirana.

Under the initiative of Hyseni family, that lost their daughter in that tragedy, student at that time, and with the support of the Municipality of Tirana and the Ministry of Defense, was inaugurated on Saturday the "Eye of the Sky" Memorial.

The Senior Course on Security and Defense was completed by 13 Albanian and outlander attendees, Xhaçka: We are increasing financial and academic capacities

From the Senior Course on Security and Defense which took place for 10 weeks at the Academy of the Armed Forces were graduated13 course attendees.
Part of it were senior military and civilians from a number of partner countries such as England, Turkey, Croatia, Italy, Greece, Northern Macedonia and Georgia.
At their graduation ceremony were also present the Defense Minister Olta Xhaçka, who, after congratulating all students, said that this course on its 11th year has a significance that goes beyond simply preparing a number of students in the field of Defense.

The chairmanship of the Adriatic Charter, Albanian’s priority is expanding US- Adriatic Charter initiative

The implementation of the Open Door Policy to expand the US - Adriatic Charter initiative in the region and beyond, for the states that fulfill the conditions for membership, will continue to be one of Albania’s priorities during the Chairmanship of the Adriatic Charter.

That’s what the Departament of Defence Policie Director, Florian Kali, said during a meeting in Tirana with the Defence Policie Director of the USA, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Croatia, Montenegro, North Macedonia as well as the observer states in this initiative, Kosovo and Slovenia.
Kali emphasized that Albania will continue its efforts for the full rights membership of Kosovo.
