Skanderbeg Year, the AAF Museum is enriched with the pavilion of our National Hero

Starting from today, a new pavilion has been added to the Museum of the Armed Forces.

A pavilion dedicated entirely to our National Hero opened in the Museum of the Armed Forces in the framework of the Nationwide Year of Gjergj Kastriot Skanderbeg.

Defence Minister Olta Xhaçka, Chief of General Staff of the Armed Forces Brigadier General Bardhyl Kollçaku, Deputy Chief of General Staff Brigadier General Manushaqe Shehu, the Member of Parliament of Albania Vullnet Sina, as well as many senior military and guests were present at the inauguration of this new pavilion.

The modernization of the Armed Forces, Xhaçka: Even the Air Force through Reformation Process

On the 2nd Anniversary of the Nation’s Martyrs, Captain Floran Delia and Lieutenant Donald Hoxha, which lost their lives in an air crash while performing their duties was commemorated at Farka Air Base. While speaking at the ceremony, the Defence Minister Olta Xhaçka said that in order to increase the Air Force security, and that of the other forces, the process of reformation and modernization will continue.

Minister Xhaçka met the Deputy Prime Minister at the same time Defence Minister of Croatia Mr. Krstičević

Albania and Croatia expressed readiness to strengthen their bilateral co-operation in the field of Defense, as well as mutual assistance in cases of natural disasters.
On the 9th Anniversary of NATO membership of the two countries, Defence Minister Olta Xhaçka received in Tirana the Croatian Deputy Prime Minister and Defence Minister, Mr. Krstičević, who is paying a two-day visit in our country.
Minister Xhaçka described Albania and Croatia as distinguished and reliable allies of NATO, and she praised the two countries' contribution in all the Alliance commitments.
Mrs. Xhaçka expressed her gratitude for the attention that Croatia has dedicated to the Republic of Kosovo by making it part of regional initiatives.

Different activities on the occasion of the International Day of Sport for Development and Peace

On August 23, 2013, the UN decided that 6th April should be the International Day of Sport for Development and Peace. At the same time, this date coincides with the opening day of the Modern Olympic Games, which took place in Athens in 1896.
In the context of this day, a massive event was organized at “Skanderbeg” Garrison, which corresponds with the agenda of the Defence Minister for the Nationwide Year of Gjergj Kastriot Skënderbeu.
At the opening of this event, the national record holder, who is at the same time a member of the Armed Forces, symbolically handed over the Olympic flame to the Chief of General Staff of the Armed Forces, Brigadier General Bardhyl Kollçaku, who then handed it over to a group of children as a sign of continuity.

Albania 9 years in NATO, Xhaçka: We are an active part of any of the Alliance operations

On the 9th Anniversary of Albania's Membership in the North Atlantic Treaty Organization, Defence Minister Olta Xhaçka confirmed the political will of the Albanian Government to support any NATO decision and to be an active part of any operation.

Minister Xhaçka described NATO as the largest Political and Military Alliance of the time and the Albania's membership in it was a culmination point and an extraordinary historic achievement for our country.
