Armed Forces close to residents affected by flooding in Shkodra

The Armed Forces continue to be engaged uninterruptedly in coping with flooding in the Sub-Shkodra area.
A team from Tirana's regional support battalion with sailing vessels and high traversability was sent in support of the first infantry battalion of Vau i Dejës.

In Dajç village, military of First Infantry Battalion (1stIB) urgently transported to the regional hospital in Shkodra a 27 - year - old man with health problems, who suffered a respiratory insufficiency and had an urgent need for oxygen.

Armed Forces involved in aiding the flooded low-lying areas of Shkodra

Albanian Armed Forces are being engaged for several days in coping with flooding situation in several villages near the banks of the Buna River in the Shkodra Municipality.

The 1st Infantry Battalion in Vau i Dejës is mainly operating in the village of Obot of the Administrative Unit of Ana e Malit in the Municipality of Shkodra. The high water level has made it impossible for city car class vehicles crossing the road that connects the village to the center of the administrative unit and the city.

Minister Xhaçka celebrates the 8th of March with military women and girls: You are an example of dedication to family and country.

Over 1300 women and girls are serving today in the Albanian Armed Forces. At a meeting with women and girls in uniform, attended also by NATO ambassadors and their spouses, Defence Minister Olta Xhaçka praised the role of women in society, highlighting military girls and women’s sacrifice.

"All of you, dear women and girls, are admirable! You are the inspirational example for the model you give and the love you give with the dedication to love and protect our country Albania, to protect the freedom and peace of the countries where you often engage in missions, away from family," - said Minister Xhaçka who also emphasized the role of every woman for more rights.

7th March, Xhaçka surprises ex-professor: “Thanks for the model of knowledge in the AAF”

For more than 38 years, Shqipe Dautaj served as a professor and Head of the Foreign Language Center in the Armed Forces. On the Teacher's Day, Defence MInister Olta Xhaçka paid a visit to the family of the pedagogue already retired, as a token of gratitude to all generations of teachers who have contributed to the education of the new generation over the years,.

"I am aware that teachers have not been given what they deserve for their great work. However, the least we can do is to always respect you and thank you for everything you have done to those you have educated to become above all worthy citizens of our country",- said Minister Xhaçka.
