Floods return, AAF in the field, Xhaçka: Identify problematic areas

The recent rainfall has again caused problems in some areas of the country. This situation called for the Armed Forces to go to the field to be close to the community and face the situation.

Defense Minister Olta Xhaçka alongside with the AAF was in the field, to closely follow the effective work in helping the affected inhabitants.

Apart from the maximum engagement of all structures of the Armed Forces during the floods, Minister Xhaçka emphasized the identification of problematic areas in order to prevent serious consequences.

Emergencies, US donate equipment to the Armed Forces: Minister Xhaçka : “A friend in need is a friend indeed!”

Albanian military men will be more trained and equipped to address the civil emergency situations. All this is made possible through the generous assistance offered by the American Government, which accepted the request sent last month by the Albanian government.

In the premises of the Supporting Command where recently there has been established a Center for Receiving and Managing Assistance, Minister Xhaçka and the US Ambassador Donald Lu, participated in a ceremony held on the occasion of receiving the first part of the assistance whose total value is 650 thousand dollars.

Minister Xhaçka thanked the Allied countries for the solidarity rendered during the latest floods directing explicitly to the United States of America for their contribution to the Albanian Armed Forces.

97 years of Engineering and Artillery, Xhaçka: 25 thousand inhabitants have new bridges and roads thank to the AAF's contribution

The 97th Anniversary of the establishment of the Engineering and Artillery Battalions finds then on terrain contributing on improving the lives of citizens all around Albania. At the special ceremony organized at the Armed Forces Command Battalion of the Armed Forces, Defense Minister Olta Xhaçka highlighted the achievements of these engineers in the civil emergency situation and their effective interventions at any difficult moment.

Armed Forces in the action for cleaning and forestation of Shkodra

The Armed Forces joined in Shkoder the initiative of the Ministry of Environment and Tourism, “Cleaning up the Albania we want". 

Along with Minister Blendi Klosi, representatives of the local and young volunteers, the Infantry Battalion's staff at Vau i Dejës have participated in the action for cleaning, rehabilitation and greening in the city of Shkodër.

The Armed Forces helped transport and plant around 5700 seedlings in Tarabosh Mountain, as well as clearing the Buna River bank.

Minister of Tourism and Environment Blendi Klosi thanked all those who joined the initiative of the institution he leads, as well as called for every citizen to become part of the full forestation of 20 million trees by 2020.

Brigadier General Manushaqe Shehu is appointed Deputy Chief of the General Staff of the Albanian Armed Forces.

Brigadier General Manushaqe Shehu is appointed Deputy Chief of General Staff, becoming the first woman to serve in that high rank in the Albanian Armed Forces. Deputy Chief of General Staff of the Armed Forces Brigadier General Shehu previously served as Commander of the Doctrine and Training Command and replaces Brigadier General Dedë Prenga, who is appointed as the Deputy Commander of the Land Force.
