Minister Xhaçka is received by US Secretary of Defence: Albania a worthy Ally, strikes harder than its weight.

Washington - The United States value Albania a worthy ally of NATO and a leading country in the Western Balkans.
During her official visit to the US, Defence Minister Olta Xhaçka was received by US Secretary of Defense James Mattis.
"Albania has shown that its geographic size is far less important than its engagement in the Alliance. As a determined Ally, Albania strikes harder than its weight", declared Secretary Mattis at the beginning of the meeting between the two delegations.

USA Assistant Secretary of State for European and Eurasian Affairs Wess Mitchell receives Minister Xhaçka

Assistant Secretary of State for European and Eurasian Affairs Wess Mitchell, received today in an official meeting the Defence Minister, Mrs. Olta Xhaçka.
The meeting took place a few minutes after the official statement by the EC, which didn’t pass without being congratulated by Assistant Secretary of State Mitchell who said that today is a day to celebrate.
The US Assistant Secretary of State also praised Albania's contribution to NATO, saying Albania is a reliable USA partner and a warrantor of security in the region.

USA, Defense Minister Olta Xhaçka launches formal meetings in the Senate and Congress

Invited by US Secretary of Defense James Mattis, Defence Minister Olta Xhaçka has launched an official visit to the United States, where she is holding a series of important meetings in the US Senate and in US Congress.
At Capitol Hill, Minister Xhaçka was received at a special meeting by Senator Tom Cotton and Congressmen Matt Gaetz and Jim McGovern. In these meetings, Minister Xhaçka praised United States significant support for judicial reform, and she also discussed on the strategic partnership between USA and Albania. "American support is very important for the European agenda of Albania" , - she said.
In her visit to the United States, the Defence Minister met with representatives of the US Company Lockheed Martin, the world's elite company on the field of military industry. Currently “Lockheed Martin” is working on the Integrated Surveillance System for Albanian Airspace (ISSAA). The contract for the purchase of ISSAA was approved in November 2017.

The Ministry of Defence supports the attack on the Syrian regime by the United States of America, the United Kingdom and France.
Albania, as a NATO member state, considers the use of chemical weapons, which killed innocent people, as unacceptable. These actions are in full opposition to all international conventions.
Hence, the Ministry of Defence of the Republic of Albania considers that the use of chemical weapons threatens international security and peace. Therefore, the US and two NATO member countries responded in the right way to the protection of fundamental human rights and freedoms.

Skanderbeg Year, the AAF Museum is enriched with the pavilion of our National Hero

Starting from today, a new pavilion has been added to the Museum of the Armed Forces.
A pavilion dedicated entirely to our National Hero opened in the Museum of the Armed Forces in the framework of the Nationwide Year of Gjergj Kastriot Skanderbeg.
Defence Minister Olta Xhaçka, Chief of General Staff of the Armed Forces Brigadier General Bardhyl Kollçaku, Deputy Chief of General Staff Brigadier General Manushaqe Shehu, the Member of Parliament of Albania Vullnet Sina, as well as many senior military and guests were present at the inauguration of this new pavilion.
