Minister Xhaçka receives senior NATO military leaders: we will increase the number of troops in Afghanistan

Minister of Defense, Olta Xhaçka received today in special meetings the Supreme Allied Forces Commander in Europe, General Curtis M. Scaparrotti and the Chairman of the NATO Military Committee, General Petr Pavel.

In the meeting with the Supreme Allied Forces Commander in Europe General Curtis M. Scaparrotti, she informed the senior military about her priorities as the Minister of Defense, mainly modernization and training.

Albanian-British Exercise "Soldier Eagle 17"

In the framework of joint training between Armed Forces of Albania and Armed Forces of United Kingdom the “Day of distinguished visitors” to Exercise "Soldier Eagle 17"was held today.

The ceremony was attended by the President of the Republic, at the same time commander-in-chief of the Armed Forces, Ilir Meta, Chief of General Staff of the Armed Forces Brigadier General Bardhyl Kollçaku, Chief of Defense Staff of the United Kingdom General Sir Stuart William Peach, United Kingdom Ambassador to Albania Duncan Norman, generals and other military officers from the Ministry of Defense and Armed Forces.

Minister Xhaçka receives the Chief of Defense Staff of the United Kingdom

Minister of Defense, Olta Xhaçka received today in an official meeting the Chief of Defense Staff of the United Kingdom, Air Chief Marshal Sir Stuart William Peach and the accompanying delegation.

Mrs. Xhaçka expressed her welcome to Air Chf Mshl Peach, who in turn congratulated the Minister for the new assignment.

Mrs. Olta Xhaçka the new Minister of Defense

The new Minister of Defense Mrs. Olta Xhaçka took office today after the swearing-in ceremony of government new cabinet ministers.

Mrs. Olta Xhaçka took the oath in the Presidency along with the Prime Minister, Edi Rama and the other members of the Council of Ministers.

After the swearing-in ceremony in the Presidency, the Minister of Defense, Olta Xhaçka took office, which was handed over by her predecessor, Mrs. Mimi Kodheli.

Mrs. Olta Xhaçka is the second woman to be appointed Minister of Defense after Mrs. Mimi Kodheli, who led this important branch of the Albanian state for four consecutive years.

Active professional soldiers/seamen candidates to AF left for Bunavi

Today took place the ceremony to seeing off new professional soldiers/seamen candidates to Armed Forces to Basic Individual Training at the Troop School in Bunavi.

The ceremony was attended by the Minister of Defense, Mimi Kodheli, Chief of General Staff of the Armed Forces, Brigadier General Bardhyl Kollçaku, senior military and family and friends of the recruits.

In her speech, Minister Kodheli congratulated the young people for their choice to serve the country and invited them to devote themselves to the highest standards and to follow the rules. "It is certainly a special day for you to start a journey that in my judgment will lead you towards a long way, if you honorably bear the uniform that you will wear after you pass the last test, that of Bunavi ".
