Last farewell to the Homeland Martyr, Major Klodian Tanushi

Major Klodian Tanushi, Commander of the Albanian Contingent in Latvia, was honored with the highest military and state obsequies before he is laid to rest in the Homeland Martyrs’ Cemetery in Tirana.
Major Klodian Tanushi fell in line of duty due to an explosion at the Camp Adazi in Latvia, where the NATO enhanced Forward Presence Battle Group and the Albanian Contingent under his leadership are deployed.
For more than two hours, at the premises of the National Museum of History obsequies were held for Major Tanushi.

The US Defense Secretary Patrick Shanahan (acting) sent a sympathy message to Defense Minister Olta Xhaçka for the loss of two effectives Zarife Hasanaj and Klodian Tanushi during the NATO “enhanced Forward Presence” mission in Latvia.
In his message, the acting Secretary of Defense Shanahan describes as a tragic loss that of Sergeant Hasanaj and Major Tanushi.

The Council of Ministers honors Major Klodian Tanushin, who felt in the line of duty during the NATO “enhanced Forward Presence” mission in Latvia, announcing Thursday 16 May 2019, a National Day of Mourning . In honor of Major Tanushi, Commander of the Albanian contingent in Latvia, on Thursday, in all public and private institutions, the national flag will be flown at half-staff.
Also, the Central Commission of the “Martyr of Homeland” Statute, under the leadership of Defense Minister Olta Xhaçka, proclaims Major Klodian Tanushin, who fell in line of duty as “Homeland Martyr”.

The lifeless body of the Albanian contingent Commander in Latvia, Major Klodian Tanushi, who felt in the line of duty during the NATO “enhanced Forward Presence” mission is brought in the homeland.
The coffin bearing the lifeless body of Major Tanushi and covered with the National Flag, was transported by military aircraft from Latvia and was accompanied by his Albanian, Canadian, and Latvian colleagues from the NATO battalion-group.

Major Klodian Tanushi, the Commander of the Albanian contingent in Latvia, fallen in line of duty at the NATO “enhanced Forward Presence” mission in the Baltic Sea, was bidden farewell with the highest military honors by his colleagues.
Effectives of the nine participating countries in the “enhanced Forward Presence” mission, including Latvia, escorted at Riga Airport the flag-covered coffin, bearing the lifeless body of Major Tanushi, who will be transported by military aircraft to the homeland.
The lifeless body of Major Tanushi is expected to arrive at “Mother Teresa” Airport on Wednesday, 12:45 pm, and will be received with official military honors before being brought to his family.
