The Sports Activities Directorate has the duty to organize and manage in cooperation with the General Staff sports activities, competitions, etc, in the Armed Forces, to develop and train teams of military representatives, in national and international activities with active personnel, children and their families. This directorate determines the priorities of sports disciplines, with priority on those disciplines that are applicable in the army. It also designs and conducts training programs of the representative teams and elite individuals, and develops training with sports specialists and trainers of the Armed Forces, for their professional development. It prepares lectures for military education institutions and organizes sports activities with central and local institutions and beyond. It collaborates and coordinates work with the Albanian Olympic Committee, sports federations and Ministry of Culture, Youth, Sport and Tourism. It propagates and informs through the electronic press media on the activities and sports results in the army, organizes and directs camps, excursions, marches of a cultural and sportive character, as well as trainings and grouped seminars in the country and abroad.
The directorate of Sports Activities during 2011 has organized a series of activities to fulfill its duties. In this context, we can mention the establishment of sports teams of karate and volleyball (boys and girls).
The karate team in June 2011 took part in the national championship and won one gold, 2 silver and 4 bronze medals.
Two tests have been developed with the karate team aiming technical growth.
A grouped training has taken place at the officers’ holiday house in Durres.

The directorate has organized sports activity “Petrit Murzaku” cup for children in sport of volleyball.
In December was held a friendly soccer match between Military Academy "Skanderbeg" and University of Tirana.
In December was approved the establishment of the boxing team.
