Emergencies, ALBAdapt project unveiled, Minister Vengu: Strengthening early warning systems, building a volunteer network

Defence Minister Pirro Vengu, took part in the presentation of the important project "ALBAdapt - The Climate-Resilient Urban Development Program in Albania," an initiative designed to support Albania in enhancing its hydrometeorological services.

This project marks a significant step forward in strengthening the country’s ability to handle the risks and consequences of extreme climate events. Attending the event were also Deputy Prime Minister Mrs. Belinda Balluku, who is also the Minister of Energy and Infrastructure, the Minister of Tourism and Environment Mrs. Mirela Kumbaro, as well as the Ambassadors of Germany and Switzerland, among others.

Cooperation in emergency situations, Minister Vengu presents agreement with Slovenia in Parliament

Defence Minister Pirro Vengu, presented to the Parliamentary Committee on Foreign Policy the draft law "On the Ratification of the Agreement between the Government of the Republic of Slovenia and the Council of Ministers of the Republic of Albania on Cooperation in Defense Against Natural and Other Disasters."

This agreement on civil emergency cooperation will have a significant impact on strengthening the capacity and response of the Armed Forces of the Republic of Albania and the National Agency for Civil Protection in managing situations caused by natural disasters or other emergencies.

2025 draft budget, Minister Vengu in Parliament: Ensures salary increases and continued modernization of the Armed Forces

Defence Minister Pirro Vengu, referred to the 2025 draft budget as a historic one, marking a major step in strengthening the country's defense and national security capabilities.

In his address during the parliamentary session on the 2025 draft budget, Minister Vengu announced that the defense sector's budget for 2025 is set at 52.7 billion lek, representing a 4.6% increase compared to 2024.
