Xhaçka meets new recruits: Opening of Armed Forces to women, a necessity

143 youngsters left today for the Troop School in Bunavi, where for about three months they will go through the Basic Individual Training. It is the first stage before taking the enlistment oath as the newest soldiers and sailors of the Armed Forces.
At the seeing off ceremony the Defence Minister Olta Xhaçka, appraised the choice of these youngsters to joining the Armed Forces.
UN team assessment visit on the declared capabilities of the AAF

An UN team has conducted an assessment visit to the Armed Forces of the Republic of Albania on the declared capabilities of the AAF in the UN system to engage and use if required in UN led missions.
The assessment team comprised of UN personnel and the European Command of American Forces was introduced through a presentation at the General Staff, with the capacities and capabilities of the AAF to contribute to possible UN led missions.
Land Force Commander assignment, Xhaçka: Commitment and professionalism are rewarded

Defence Minister Olta Xhaçka stated today that the appreciation of dedicated professionals and people is the working motto in Armed Forces. The Minister attended the handing over ceremony of Commanders of the Land Force. Brigadier General Albert Mullai took over the task of Commander of Land Force replacing Major General Nazmi Cahani, who held this post for more than three years.
"Tireless work, dedication, professionalism will always be rewarded. This is the motto of our work, it is the motto of my work, the objective of my work is the objective we set ourselves and it is a non-negotiable standard that we will apply in all AF structures.
Defence Deputy Minister Koçi: 27 years from establishment, Military Police transformed

Today the Military Police celebrated the 27- th Anniversary of its establishment.
Defence Deputy Minister Petro Koçi, Chief of General Staff of the Armed Forces Brigadier General Bardhyl Kollçaku, and the leaders of the MP participated at the ceremony held on this occasion.
In his speech, Defence Deputy Minister Petro Koçi emphasized the progress and transformation made by the Military Police during these years. Also, Koçi added that the role of the MP will also be essential in securing the NATO Base, which will be built in Kuçova.

Minister of Defence Olta Xhaçka welcomed in Tirana, the Commander of NATO Allied Air Command General Todd Wolters, marking the starting off of a NATO security investment into Kuçova Air Base over the next five years.
The two interlocutors praised highly the importance that the improvement of the infrastructure of such a base will have on the security of Albania and the region.
The visit of General Wolters to our country marks also the beginning of the activities for this year, which coincides with the 10th Anniversary of Albania's membership in NATO.
Earlier, General Wolters was received with honour guard by the Chief of General Staff of Armed Forces, Brigadier General Bardhyl Kollçaku.
During the welcome ceremony, four fighter jets from Allied countries, which defend the airspace of our country, conducted a fly-past over capital.
