70-th Anniversary of the Liberation Day

The ceremony of the celebration of the 70th Anniversary of the Liberation Day was held on central square of garrison “Skënderbej”. The event was attended by the President of the Republic at the same time Commander-in-chief of the Albanian Armed Forces, Mr. Bujar Nishani; the Speaker of the Parliament of Albania, Mr. Ilir Meta; the Prime Minister, Edi Rama; the Defence Minister, Mrs. Mimi Kodheli; the Chief of the General Staff of the Albanian Armed Forces, Major General Jeronim Bazo; MPs, representatives of the diplomatic corps, Defence Attachés, representatives of religious communities, etc.

MoD awards over 1000 medals on the occasion of the 70th Anniversary of the Liberation

In framework of the celebrations for the 70th Anniversary of the Liberation of Homeland, the Ministry of Defence organized today an awarding ceremony for the personalities who have contributed as participants in the fight for the liberation of the country.
1000 “Medal of Gratitude” and 20 “Medal of Honour” for outstanding services and in service of the country (10 medals from the Ministry of Defence (MoD) and 10 medals from the Ministry of Interior (MoI), were awarded today in the eve of this jubilee.

The museum exhibition “BUNK’ART” is opened

It was opened today, at the premises of the Support Battalion of the General Staff of the Armed Forces, in Shtish-Tufina, near Tirana, the museum exhibition “BUNK’ART”, which is located inside the former command in wartime, or anti-nuclear bunker of the communist dictatorship.
At the organized ceremony on this occasion attended: the Prime Minister of the Republic of Albania, Mr. Edi Rama, Defence Minister Mrs. Mimi Kodheli, Minister of Culture, Mrs. Mirela Kumbaro, Chief of General Staff of the Armed Forces, Major General Jeronim Bazo, other ministers of the Cabinet, members of the Parliament, ambassadors and other representatives of the diplomatic corps accredited in Tirana, citizens of the capital and other guests.

A new pavilion for ANLW added to the Armed Forces Museum

In the framework of the activities organized by the Ministry of Defence on the occasion of the 70th Anniversary of the Liberation of Homeland, a new pavilion was opened today at the Armed Forces Museum (AFM) dedicated to the Anti-Fascist National Liberation War (ANLW). Defence Minister Kodheli stressed, at the opening ceremony of the pavilion, that Albania was among the first countries involved in WWII, the bloodiest war in human history. Albania’s alignment, in the victorious block in this war, was primarily the merit of the Albanian people’s wisdom and the only proper way to ensure the existence of the Albanian nation.
