Defence Minister Mrs. Mimi Kodheli official visit to France

The Minister of Defence, Mrs. Mimi Kodheli is on an official visit to France. Mrs. Kodheli met today her counterpart, the French Minister of Defence, Mr. Jean-Yves Le Drian. Both officials discussed about issues of bilateral cooperation, about the international situation and the latest developments, as well as joint commitments in the framework of NATO and EU.

Discussing about bilateral cooperation, especially in Defence, both senior officials shared the view to further deepening of this cooperation. France makes a major contribution to the Armed Forces modernization and education of Albanian officers in the best French military schools. An example of the successful cooperation is the mission in Chad, where Albania was alongside French troops.

Armed Forces personnel donate blood

On the occasion of the World Blood Donor Day and under the motto, “Donate blood. Save life!”, the military personnel of the General Staff of the Armed Forces, Training and Doctrine Command (TRADOC) and NCOs Academy donated today blood at the TRADOC’s Medical Centre. Among the military and civilian employees of the Armed Forces, who voluntarily donated blood, was the Chief of General Staff of the Armed Forces, Major General Jeronim Bazo and directors of directorates in the General Staff. This human and civic action reconfirms our Armed Forces support to civil society and their permanent readiness to be always close to people in need.

Speech of Defence Minister Kodheli in the Parliament on the bill for military career in the Armed Forces

The current legal framework derived from the Law no. 9171, is outrun. Many of you in this hall have voted this law 11 years ago and I just wanted to remind you that the merit of this law was the radical change in the ranks structure. Now, the hierarchical pyramid is back to normality, and it is based on a very clear system of career advancement. Thus, the current law mission has been the establishment of the career system based on professional criteria and correction of ranks structure.

The Minister of Defence, Mrs. Mimi Kodheli is on an official visit to Georgia. She was welcomed in a special meeting by the Defence Minister of Georgia, Mr. Irakli Alasania. Minister Kodheli meets U.S. Deputy Assistant Secretary of Defence, Evelyn N. Farkas

The Minister of Defence, Mrs. Mimi Kodheli is in Brussels participating at the NATO Defence Minister meeting.
During the day, Mrs. Kodheli had a meeting with the Deputy Assistant Secretary of Defence for Russia, Ukraine and Eurasia, Ms. Evelyn N. Farkas. During the meeting, Mrs. Kodheli informed Ms. Farkas about current reform in Defence and in the Armed Forces, such as the latest proposals for the legal framework improvement. Regarding this topic, Minister Kodheli focused on the Ministry of Defence commitment in the fight against corruption and Armed Forces restructuring.
