Foreign and Albanian companies interested in the Kuçova’s Base investment

The investment for the modernization of the Kuçova Air Base is slowly taking shape. The NATO Support and Procurement Agency (NSPA) went down on the terrain with potential contractors to inform them about the project.

Representatives of the NATO Support and Procurement Agency presented the necessary procedures and documentation that must be met by the contracting firms, before applying to carry out the works for the modernization of the Kuçova Base and its return to the NATO Tactical Air Base.

At the end of a difficult year, Xhaçka to NATO’s Defence Attachés: the Support of Alliance, noteworthy

The year-end meeting with the foreign Defence Attachés accredited in the Republic of Albania took place on December 9, 2020. Considering the pandemic situation, the meeting was held online.
The main focus of the meeting was a general presentation on the Albanian Armed Forces, their role and mission, their participation in missions abroad as well as bilateral cooperation, regional and international.
The meeting was attended by NATO Defence Attachés accredited in our country (and non-residents) as well as the Defence Attaché of Kosovo.

108 years of AAF, Xhaçka: Proud that Albanians value it as the most reliable institution

Nowadays for the Albanian citizens the Albanian Armed Forces are valued as the most reliable institution. On the 108th Anniversary of the Establishment, Defense Minister Olta Xhaçka expresses her pride for its changes and achievements.

"In 108 years, the Albanian Armed Forces have had a history full of drama and success, pain and joy, ups and downs. A story that intertwines and becomes one with the history of Albania and Albanians. Today I feel proud that the Albanian Armed Forces are valued as the most reliable and respected institution by Albanians, just as I feel proud when our partners and allies evaluate the performance of our men and women in uniform and the great progress that the AAF have reached", writes Minister Xhaçka, on the social network Facebook.

Air Force Press Release

Recently, the Air Force of the Republic of Albania faces an unfounded attack by the representatives of a political entity, if they are accused of abusing the mission and the vehicles of the Air Force.

Among the information used in support of these accusations, representatives of this entity have made public a list of flights in a region of the Republic of Albania, although the release of such information, many of which is classified due to security breaches of the Armed Forces, constitutes a criminal offense punishable by law.

In this case, in view of its legal obligation for transparency and to inform the citizens, who rightly deserve to know the truth about these accusations, we declare with full responsibility that the information conveyed in the Media by the political entity is incorrect, not only in terms of flight dates or in terms of destinations, but also in terms of reasons or in terms of persons who have travelled on board of the Air Force vehicles.

Today, we were shocked and outraged by the statement issued by Mrs. Albana Vokshi, who repeated without thinking some baseless allegations about the use of AAF helicopters to conduct an election campaign, filed by an individual, who after failing to be included in the lists of candidates for member of parliament of DP, since he was rejected with contempt by the membership of this party in the district of Dibra, whom we know very well, his character and deeds, now tries to gain points with the leadership of the DP by inventing delusive stories with helicopters.

Allegations like these, in fact, do not deserve reaction, as they are low staging and attempts to throw mud and spoil the good work that has been done in the AAF in recent years.
