Civil-Military coordination in the academic field – the challenge of the 21st Century, Deputy Defence Minister greets the participants of the scientific conference

Higher education of military personnel should be an integral part of public higher education. This was the main object of the scientific conference held on September 30, in the auditorium of the Ministry of Defense, on the topic: "Civilian-military coordination in the academic field - the challenge of the 21st century ". This academic activity came as a collaboration between the Faculty of Defense and Security at AFA and the Department of Political Science of Barleti University.
Deputy Minister of Defense Dallëndyshe Bici, while greeting the conference proceedings, emphasized the importance of the Academy of the AF in the project of the modernization and professionalization of the Armed Forces.

Minister Peleshi attends Defence Ministers' Conference in “Graz Format”

At the initiative of the Austrian Defence Minister, the Defence Ministers' Conference in “Graz Format”, was held in Krems, Austria.
At the invitation of the Austrian side, the meeting was attended by Defence Ministers and high-level representatives of Austria, Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Montenegro, Northern Macedonia, and Serbia. The Albanian delegation was headed by the Defence Minister Niko Peleshi.
The conference aims to implement the EU Strategy for the Western Balkans towards sustainability, regional stabilization and pre-accession to the Common Security and Defense Policies (CSDP). Participants were briefed on the latest CSDP innovations by high-level representatives of the European Commission.

Nearly 3,000 victims of the 9/11 terrorist attacks were commemorated at a ceremony at the US Embassy in Tirana.
The solemn ceremony was also attended by Defence Minister Niko Peleshi and the Chief of General Staff of the Armed Forces, Major General Assoc. Prof. Bajram Begaj.
On behalf of the Albanian government, Minister Peleshi recalled the innocent victims of the attacks and stressed the importance of cooperation between the allies to fight terrorism.
Minister Peleshi proudly mentioned Albania's contribution to this US-led war and thanked the women and men who bravely served in Afghanistan and Iraq.

Albania remains a worthy ally of NATO and of strategic partners. This will was expressed by Defense Minister Niko Peleshi, during the conversation with the Defense Minister of the Republic of Latvia Artis Pabriks, who is in Tirana on an official visit.
Defense Minister Peleshi stressed the fact that Albania immediately responded to the NATO call and has contributed with troops in the framework of NATO enhanced Forward Presence (eFP), on its eastern border since 2017, while the Albanian EOD contingent remains engaged side by side with Alliance forces as part of the Canadian-led multinational battalion. He mentioned the tragic incident that occurred in Camp Ādaži, where two of our military members, Major Klodian Tanushi and Sergeant Zarife Hasanaj, lost their lives, an event that further strengthened the connection between the two countries.
