Reward for 2917 Armed Forces employees

The Council of Ministers allocated over 63 million ALL as a reward for 2917 Armed Forces and 330 State Police employees for their engagement and dedication for the assistance given to the residents affected by the flooding of this month.

At her release to the media shortly after the meeting of the Council of Ministers, the Defense Minister Olta Xhaçka thanked the AAF for their work and assured them they would always have her attention as well as the government's attention.

Defense Deputy Minister Petro Koçi at the Security Commission

Defense Deputy Minister Petro Koçi, accompanied by the Chief of General Staff of the Armed Forces, Brigadier General Bardhyl Kollçaku participated at hearing session held at the Security Commission.

During the hearing session, Deputy Defense Minister Petro Koçi presented a detailed material regarding the Emergency Situation that was caused throughout the country by the dense rainfalls.

Mr. Koçi started his speech thanking the Armed Forces for the contribution given during the situation and noted the success with which they faced this emergency situation with no losses in people.

Minister Xhaçka at the 1st Infantry Battalion in Vau i Dejës: Maximum commitment for better treatment and modernization

Defense Minister Olta Xhaçka, accompanied by Defense Deputy Minister Petro Koçi, paid a visit to the 1st Infantry Battalion in Vau i Dejes. Initially, Minister Xhaçka was acquainted with the work, achievements, but also with the problems of this Battalion by the Commander Lieutenant Colonel Ali Mali.

Later on, the Minister held a meeting with all the Battalion's staff, who congratulated them for their work and commitment, and assured them of the full attention of the Ministry of Defense to improve the working conditions and their treatment.

Facing emergencies, Prime Minister Rama thanks the Armed Forces

The Prime Minister Edi Rama and the Defense Minister Olta Xhaçka thanked the Armed Forces for their engagement in facing the difficult situation caused by the bad weather last weekend. In his speech at the meeting attended by representatives of the diplomatic corps and family members of the effectives, the Head of the Government stated that the budget in 2019 regarding the increase of salaries for the military will be the top priority.

“I, today, commit myself in front of you that 2018 will be the last year in which the state budget will have the existing salaries for you. We are determined to increase the Army budget, which we have already done with the 2018 budget, but growth will continue to reach an objective. And the first priority increase for 2019 will be the substantial increase of salaries of all the military, "said Rama. The prime minister promised the people who were facing the natural disaster that they would receive the merited remuneration for this commitment, which according to him saved human lives.

The elements for 90m Bailey bridge are ready, Kosovo responds to Albania's request for help

At Morina border crossing point there were 15 heavy tonnage trucks, which transported from Kosovo to Albania the material for the construction of 90 m Bailey bridge. This assistance comes in response to the request for help from Albania which was made after the recent floods, where over 65 bridges were heavily damaged.

Deputy Chief of General Staff of the Armed Forces of the Republic of Albania, Brigadier General Dedë Prenga praised the contribution of the Kosovo Security Force in overcoming the difficult situation of the last day.
