17 ton of Montenegro’s ammunition has been demolished in Albania

The process of demolition of 17 ton of Montenegro’s ammunition took place at the Explosive Materials Plant in Mjekës, Elbasan. The whole experience is of particular importance, because it turns the country into a specialized dismantling centre and increasing this way the possibility for opening new jobs’ position.
It’s worth noting that during the implementation of the whole project the personnel did survey the rigorous NATO standards on security.
During the Defence Minister inspection at the Explosive Materials Plant in Mjekës, she was very optimistic about the opportunities offered to the Albanian government at the successful fulfilment of this pilot project.

Today, at the auditorium of MoD, was held a scientific conference on: “Development of military doctrine in a variable context of defence and security”. The conference was attended by: Defence Minister Mrs. Mimi Kodheli, Chief of General Staff of the Armed Forces, Major General Jeronim Bazo, MPs, generals, military researchers, historians, Armed Forces Military Academy’s professor, Defence Attachés, etc.

Defence Minister Kodheli addressed a welcome greeting to the attendees.

Defence Minister Kodheli awarded the “Medal of Gratitude” to the former President of the Republic of Albania, at once the higher rank ex-military, Mr. Alfred Moisiu. On that occasion the Ministry of Defence organized a special event which was attended by the Defence Minister, Mrs. Mimi Kodheli; the Chief of the General Staff of the Armed Forces, Major General Jeronim Bazo; MPs, higher rank militaries and also senior soldiers of the Ministry of Defence and General Staff etc.

The ceremony of the celebration of the 70^th Anniversary of the Liberation Day was held on central square of garrison “Skënderbej”. The event was attended by the President of the Republic at the same time Commander-in-chief of the Albanian Armed Forces, Mr. Bujar Nishani; the Speaker of the Parliament of Albania, Mr. Ilir Meta; the Prime Minister, Edi Rama; the Defence Minister, Mrs. Mimi Kodheli; the Chief of the General Staff of the Albanian Armed Forces, Major General Jeronim Bazo; MPs, representatives of the diplomatic corps, Defence Attachés, representatives of religious communities, etc.
