Minister Mimi Kodheli: Endless thanks and gratitude to the pilots, Lieutenant Colonel Altin Lama, Captain Ervin Buzi and Corporal Saimir Balla, of the Air Force, who risked their lives during the operation undertaken today in support of the State Police in the fight against narcotics. Our commitment to restoring the rule of law and control of the territory will continue. The Air Force’s pilots deserve today the unquestioned support of all the public for their contribution in service of their country.


Armed Forces commitment in camps during the touristic season

During the touristic season, the Ministry of Defence and the Armed Forces, in cooperation with the National Coast Agency (NCA), were committed as part of the Task Force in setting up camping sites, improving safety conditions at beaches and recreational areas along the whole coastline of the country.

The Armed Forces, since June 20, 2014, with 136 troops and 11 vehicles are mainly engaged in the administration and setting up camps in the beaches defined by NCA; creation of appropriate conditions in camps and beaches for the tourists; surveillance and patrol along the coastline; searching and finding lost children; management of incidents at sea, providing the first aid and transporting the injured to the health centres.

Defence Minister Kodheli inspects the Armed Forces’ Troop School in Bunavi

The Minister of Defence, Mrs. Mimi Kodheli, accompanied by Chief of General Staff of the Armed Forces, Major General Jeronim Bazo, inspected today the Troop School of the Armed Forces, in Bunavi, Vlora.

Minister Kodheli was welcomed by Chief of Staff of the military unit, Lieutenant Colonel Vilson Bufazi, who briefed her on the work done by the school to fulfil the tasks and objectives of this year, on the achievements during the training process, situation of the infrastructure and equipment used during this process, and on the problems and difficulties encountered during the everyday work.

Minister Kodheli decorates the Italian Defence Attaché

The Minister of Defence, Mrs. Mimi Kodheli, in a ceremony organized this morning at the Ministry of Defence, decorated the Italian Defence Attaché in Tirana, Brigadier General Vitto Dell’Edera, who finished his mission in this office.

Minister Kodheli handed to the Italian military the Medal of Gratitude with the motivation, for his contribution given through the work as a defence attaché in Albania to strengthen the bilateral relations in Defence between the Republic of Albania and the Republic of Italy.

Minister Kodheli, for the clearance of the Gërdec area

Kodheli:Let’s turn Gërdec into a garden of flowers. We have assured 1.2 million dollars for the hotspots clearance.

Defence Minister, Mrs. Mimi Kodheli, was today in Gërdec to attend at the certification ceremony of a cleared area from hazardous waste and hand over of this area to the local government structures. Minister Kodheli saw the work being done to clear the area and met the military personnel who have worked and continue to work for the full accomplishment of this operation.
