26 cadets begin military training in New Jersey, USA

For the first time, 26 Albanian cadets, candidates for commissioned officers, of whom eight are girls, will start training at the officers’ preparatory school in New Jersey, USA. On this occasion, the Ministry of Defence, in cooperation with the Office of Defence Cooperation (ODC) organized a special ceremony.

Defence Minister Kodheli pays homage at the Martyrs’ Cemetery

This morning, on the occasion of May 5, the day of the Martyrs of Homeland, the Minister of Defence, Mrs. Mimi Kodheli and Chief of General Staff of the Armed Forces, Major General Jeronim Bazo paid homage and placed wreaths at the monument “Mother Albania” at the Cemetery of the Martyrs of Homeland.

Minister Kodheli inspects the 2nd Infantry Battalion exercise in Zall-Dajt

Defence Minister Mrs. Mimi Kodheli, accompanied by the Chief of General Staff of the Armed Forces, Major General Jeronim Bazo and the Land Force Commander, Major General Zyber Dushku, inspected today the exercise conducted by the 2nd Infantry Battalion of the Land Force in the region of Zall-Dajt.
Minister Kodheli closely followed the exercise and met the participating troops thanking them for achievements of this military exercise, which once again proved best, she underlined, your preparation, readiness and confidence you have in the work you do.

Minister Kodheli met the Alternate Defence Minister of Greece

The Minister of Defence, Mrs. Mimi Kodheli, had today a special meeting with Mrs. Fofi Gennimata, Alternate Minister of Defence of the Republic of Greece, who is leading a delegation, in an official visit to our country.

During the meeting, Minister Kodheli informed Mrs. Gennimata, and the delegation, about the recent developments in Defence and Security, as well as about the steps taken by the Albanian Government for the fulfilment of vital reforms in Defence.

It started today, at the Ministry of Defence, the workshop with topic “Intelligence and Democracy”. At the opening ceremony of the workshop attended the Minister of Defence, Mrs. Mimi Kodheli, the Chief of General Staff of the Armed Forces, Major General Jeronim Bazo, the Ambassador of the United States in Tirana, Mr. Alexander Arvizu, members of the Parliament of Albania, the Director of the Albanian Intelligence Service, Mr. Visho Ajazi Lika, as well as representatives of Defence Intelligence Service.
