Defence Minister Kodheli invited to the celebrations of the 100-th anniversary of World War I

The Minister of Defence, Mrs. Mimi Kodheli took part today at the celebrations of the 100th anniversary of World War I. In this occasion, about 76 representatives of countries from the world travelled to France. On this remarkable day for the French people, in commemoration of 100th anniversary of World War I, the military parade, “A strong and modern army”, was held at the Champs-Eliysees Boulevard.

Among the many flags of different countries of the world, for the first time, the Albanian Flag marched in this parade, while Defence Minister Kodheli followed the military parade, being invited at the parade, amongst many of her counterparts, at the central tribune of this parade in Paris.

Defence Minister Kodheli meets U.S. Deputy Assistant Secretary of Defence, Ms. Farkas

The Minister of Defence, Mrs. Mimi Kodheli held today a meeting with U.S. Deputy Assistant Secretary of Defence for Russia, Ukraine and Eurasia, Ms. Evelyn N. Farkas.
During the meeting, they discussed issues of bilateral cooperation of mutual interest. Mrs. Kodheli informed Ms. Farkas about the latest developments in Defence and Security in the region. Minister Kodheli praised the role and contribution the United States is making for the Armed Forces modernization and transformation. She assured that, with the new leadership the Armed Forces will be part of a transparent decision-making and promotion system.

Minister Kodheli takes part in the conference “Diplomacy in Action” (video)

In the premises of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, it is being held the conference of the ambassadors, a four-day conference, which gathered together the heads of all diplomatic and consular representations of Albania in the world.

Graduation of 50 officers of the Armed Forces Academy

It was held today the graduation ceremony of 50 officers, who completed their studies in Senior Officer Course (SOC) and General Staff and Command Course (GSCC) at the Armed Forces Academy (AFA). At the ceremony attended the Minister of Defence, Mrs. Mimi Kodheli, the Chief of General Staff of the Armed Forces, Major General Jeronim Bazo, generals, directors and senior officers of the Ministry of Defence and General Staff of the Armed Forces, as well as other guests.
