Testing of the young soldiers of the Armed Forces

The Armed Forces will employ 250 new professional soldiers. Tests are being held these days in the premises of the Training and Doctrine Command (TRADOC). In the race to become professional soldiers there are 500 young registered people, who will be tested in three phases, the physical, intellectual and psychological one. In order to be accepted in the Armed Forces, tests are generally focused on general knowledge, motivation, accountability, thinking and acting ability, behavior and concentration during conversation, physical ability, etc.

Joint Exercise “Imposition ‘14”

In the Bay of Vlora, it was held the joint exercise codenamed “Imposition ‘14”. In this exercise participated four ships, two speedboats and a boarding team of the Naval Force; two helicopters, Cougar-633 and BO-105 of the Air Force, as well as a special group of 12 men from the Special Forces Battalion.

72th anniversary of the Conference of Peza

In the village of Peza e Madhe, Tirana, it was commemorated today the 72th anniversary of the Conference of Peza, one of the most important events in the glorious history of the Anti-Fascist National Liberation War. In front of the house museum where 72 years ago the Conference of Peza was held, hundreds of veterans of the National Liberation War, residents of Peza and many citizens from Tirana were gathered to commemorate this important day. At the event attended the Deputy Prime Minister of Albania, Mr. Niko Peleshi, Minister of Defence, Mrs. Mimi Kodheli, Minister of Social Welfare and Youth, Mr. Erion Veliaj, Chief of General Staff of the Armed Forces, Major General Jeronim Bazo, the Perfect of Tirana, Mr. Sadi Vorpsi, Members of the Parliament, heads of veterans organizations of the National Liberation War and of the local government, etc.

MoD Secretary General, Mr. Kraja visits NATO Support Agency (NSPA)

On September 15-16, 2014, a delegation of the Ministry of Defence headed by its Secretary General, Mr. Arian Kraja, conducted a working visit to the Headquarters of the NATO Support Agency (NSPA), Capellen, Luxembourg. The purpose of the visit focused on restoring contacts and enhancing the cooperation of our country with this NATO structure. In particular, during the discussions with NSPA senior officials, our delegation focused on key topics such as, demilitarization of weapons/ammunition; procurement and opportunities for Albanian companies in this regard; clearance of hotspots in our country, as well as other aspects.

150 militaries of Military Police donate blood for thalassemia patients

The Military Police, for the second day, responded to the request of the Albanian Red Cross, Tirana branch, for blood donation to help the children with thalassemia. Around 150 militaries, officers, NCOs, professional soldiers and civilian employees of the Military Police donated blood, in response to this sensitization.
