Defence Minister Kodheli at the Foreign Policy Committee

The Minister of Defence, Mrs. Mimi Kodheli took part today at the Parliamentary Committee on Foreign Policy, to discuss and approve the “Military and Financial Cooperation Agreement between the Council of Ministers of the Republic of Albania and Government of the Republic of Turkey” and the “Implementation Protocol of the financial aid between the Council of Ministers of the Republic of Albania and Government of the Republic of Turkey”. The agreement is proposed by the Turkish side as continuation of the annual aid Turkish State provides for the modernization of the Armed Forces of the Republic of Albania.

50 years of Central Armed Forces Archives

Minister Kodheli:The central archives of the Armed Forces cannot be a quiet oasis for the upcoming retirement. This archive should serve to the public information and increase understanding on Armed Forces work, it should stimulate debate about evolution, missions, politics, consultation and decision-making in our Armed Forces, as well as it should promote and facilitate scientific research.

Defence Minister Kodheli at the Parlamentary Committee on Legal Issues

At today’s Legal Issues Committee meeting, it was discussed and approved the “Military and Financial Cooperation Agreement between the Council of Ministers of the Republic of Albania and the Government of the Republic of Turkey”, and the “Protocol on the implementation of financial assistance between the Council of Ministers of the Republic of Albania and the Government of the Republic of Turkey”. This agreement is proposed by the Turkish side as continuation of the annual aid Turkish State provides for the modernization of the Armed Forces of the Republic of Albania. The Military and Financial Cooperation Agreement donates approximately 1,137,500 US dollars to the Council of Ministers of the Republic of Albania.

Defence Minister Kodheli: Gërdec tragedy will not happen again!

The Minister of Defence, Mrs. Mimi Kodheli accompanied by Chief of General Staff of the Armed Forces, Major General Jeronim Bazo, on the occasion of the 6th anniversary of Gërdec tragedy, inspected the area where the explosion occurred, killing 26 people and injuring hundreds. Minister Kodheli closely inspected the work being carried out to clear the area from the remnants of ammunition, and promised its rehabilitation as soon as possible. In memory of the victims of the explosion of March 15, 2008, Minister Kodheli placed a wreath at the memorial of the fallen. Then, Defence Minister Mrs. Mimi Kodheli gave a statement to the media.
