Minister Vengu, on an official visit to Kosovo, received by Kurti and Maqedonci: Strengthening defense cooperation

On his first official visit abroad as Defence Minister Pirro Vengu followed tradition by choosing Kosovo as his destination.

Minister Vengu began his visit by meeting with Kosovo's Prime Minister, Albin Kurti. Their discussions focused on strengthening defense cooperation, promoting regional stability, and ensuring close collaboration with allies to support Kosovo's international standing.

He also met with his counterpart, Ejup Maqedonci, where he expressed deep appreciation for the excellent and fraternal relations between the two nations.

History of the Armed Forces, part of the state central archive: Minister Vengu visits the Armed Forces Central Archive

Thousands of documents from the Central Archive of the Armed Forces will be incorporated into the State Central Archive. The integration process has begun and is expected to be completed by January 1, 2025. Defence Minister Pirro Vengu, along with Ardit Bido, Director General of the State Central Archive, visited the Armed Forces Archive to observe the ongoing work and the challenges associated with the digital transformation of the archive.

Minister Vengu enhances military and civil defense capacities in meetings with U.S., Dutch, and Romanian diplomats

This week, Defence Minister Pirro Vengu engaged in pivotal discussions with Dutch Ambassador for Cybersecurity Ernest Noorman, Romanian Ambassador Octavian Şerban, and U.S. military attachés and advisors embedded at the Ministry of Defense. The meetings centered on boosting dual-use civil and military capacities, advancing Civil Defense and military medical programs, and receiving U.S. advisory support in Defense and Security.

The law for the revitalization of the military industry comes into effect, Minister Vengu visits the Mjekës plant

The new military industry law comes into effect today, setting the stage for the modernization and revitalization of Albania’s legacy industrial capacities.

To mark this significant step, Defence Minister Pirro Vengu, accompanied by Deputy Minister of Defense Dorian Tola, visited the Mjekës plant in Elbasan, symbolizing the start of a new era for the industry. During the visit, Minister Vengu toured the production facilities and was briefed on ongoing operations. He met with the plant’s leadership and workers, stressing the critical need for investment, which the new law will facilitate, to restore the plant as a key part of the nation's military infrastructure.
