AFA courses start for the new academic year

The ceremony of the Armed Forces Academy (AFA) for 2017 - 2018 academic year courses was held at the premises of the Ministry of Defense.
Present at this ceremony was the Minister of Defense, Olta Xhaçka, accompanied by the Chief of General Staff of the Armed Forces Brigadier General Bardhyl Kollçaku as well as commanders of the other forces.
In her speech, Minister Xhaçka congratulated the trainees for starting the new academic year and expressed her confidence to further increase the quality of those who, as she said, "chose to be the security and protection of the country".

The 6th contingent departs to the NATO operation in the Aegean Sea

In the Naval Force Command, was held the departing ceremony of the 6th contingent of Navy Force "Oriku" ship to the NATO operation "Sea Guardian", in the Aegean Sea.
Present at the ceremony were the Minister of Defense Mrs. Olta Xhaçka, Chief of General Staff of the Armed Forces, Brigadier General Bardhyl Kollçaku, Commander of the Naval Force, Major General Ylber Dogjani, Force Commanders, Local Government Representatives, and Relatives of Crew Members.
In his speech, Navy Commander Major General Ylber Dogjani praised the role and commitment of the first five contingents in monitoring and preventing the gross number of illegal immigrants into the Aegean Sea.

Military Committee Conference of NATO ChoDs was concluded

NATO Military Committee Conference, which was held for the first time in our country, closes its formal proceedings
Among the key issues discussed in this conference were the projection of NATO's stability, the achievement of the initial operational capacity of the Center for the South and the continuity support of the Euro-Atlantic integration of the Western Balkans.
Regarding the Alliance's missions, military leaders restated the continuity support to Afghanistan and underlined that KFOR's position in Kosovo is related to conditions on terrain.

The Conference of NATO Military Committee convenes in Tirana

NATO Military Committee convened in our country and brought together the Chiefs of Staff of the Alliance member countries.
The Albanian Prime Minister, Mr. Edi Rama, accompanied by the Defense Minister, Mrs. Olta Xhaçka participated in the opening session of this conference as well. Prior to the start of the conference proceedings, a minute of silence was held in honor of the fallen troops on duty during the NATO operations.

Minister Xhaçka receives senior NATO military leaders: we will increase the number of troops in Afghanistan

Minister of Defense, Olta Xhaçka received today in special meetings the Supreme Allied Forces Commander in Europe, General Curtis M. Scaparrotti and the Chairman of the NATO Military Committee, General Petr Pavel.
In the meeting with the Supreme Allied Forces Commander in Europe General Curtis M. Scaparrotti, she informed the senior military about her priorities as the Minister of Defense, mainly modernization and training.
