Brigadier General Bardhyl Kollçaku, the new Chief of Staff of AAF

The President of the Republic, Ilir Meta, at the same time Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, decreed Brigadier General Bardhyl Kollçaku as Chief of General Staff.

Brigadier General Bardhyll Kollçaku received the magistrate rank by decree of the President on 31 July 2017, and Minister of Defense Mrs. Mimi Kodheli handed it over to him at a special ceremony.

The new Chief of General Staff of the Armed Forces of the Republic of Albania, Brigadier General Kollçaku in his long and prominent military career after graduating from the Military Academy in 1990 as a tactical intelligence officer served as Director of the J5/8 at the General Staff before carrying out the duties of the General Director of the Intelligence, Security and Defense Agency (AISM).

Armed Forces in the field to extinguish fires with 180 forces, 11 vehicles and 2 firefighting vehicles

Being aware of the situation throughout the country, the Albanian Armed Forces continue to be engaged in fire extinguishing in all regions of the country.

During the last 24 hours, on the request of the Civilian Emergency Office, to extinguish fires in some of the regions, the Armed Forces have engaged 180 forces, 11 vehicles and 2 firefighting vehicles (from Support Command and Land Forces).

At the promotion ceremony of Colonel Bajram Begaj as Brigadier General.

Minister of Defense, Mrs. Mimi Kodheli, the Deputy Chief of Staff of the Albanian Armed Forces, Brigadier General Dedë Prenga and high officials of the Ministry of Defense and General Staff were present in the promotion ceremony as brigadier general of Bajram Begaj conducted in the premises of the General Staff of the Armed Forces.

Based on the fact that it is the first time a doctor of the Armed Forces is promoted a general, Minister Kodheli considered this something special. In her address Minister Kodheli expressed her gratitude and respect for Brig. Gen. Bajram Begaj and his professional achievements.

Armed Forces in the field with 140 forces, 5 fire extinguishing vehicles, 3 transportation vehicles and 1 autombulance.

Based on the situation throughout the country, the Albanian Armed Forces are uninterruptedly engaged in extinguishing fires in all regions.

During the last 24 hours, based on the request of Civil Emergencies Office, there are engaged around 140 military men and women from Support Command and Land Force, 3 vehicles, one ambulance and 5 fire extinguishing vehicles are engaged to extinguish fires in some of the regions of the country.

“Oriku” vessel conducts three rescue operations in Aegean Sea


In the early morning of August 21, 2017, “Oriku” vessel, which is part of the operations in Aegean Sea, observed three speedboats sailing in Greek and Turkish waters.
At 01:30, our vessel observed a speedboat with 50 people on board sailing from Turkish seaside to Greek seaside.
During the first operation for blocking and taking on board the immigrants by “Frontex”, “Oriku” vessel observed a second speedboat. The operation for the first speedboat was finalized by our vessel until people on board were submitted to Greek authorities. In the meantime, “Frontex” vessel conducted the operation for the second speedboat.
