20th Anniversary of EOD, Xhaçka: AF are irreplaceable, Gërdec is testimony of this role

Two decades since the creation of the first group for the disposal of excessive and dangerous ammunition, EOD (Explosive Ordnance Disposal) presents an extraordinary work balance. Over 1000 ha of cleared surface from unexploded ordnance, on and underground. Over 55,000 tons of disposed ammunition, of various types and calibers. 15 certified warehouses and participation in international missions, such as ALTHEA in Bosnia and Herzegovina, EUTM Mali, and the NATO Group - Battalion in Latvia.

Brig. Gen. Sallaku takes over as Commander of Support Command

Brigadier General Ndriçim Sallaku took on his new duty as Commander of the Support Command, replacing Colonel Gasper Lala, who held this assignment for approximately 2 years.
Chief of General Staff of the Armed Forces, Brigadier General Bardhyl Kollçaku, congratulated Colonel Lala for successful continuation in other career assignments and expressed the conviction that he himself feels honored to pass on the duty to one of the most prominent professionals of the logistics field and one with great ambition to do the best, as General Sallaku.
Attending the ceremony were the Chief of General Staff of the Armed Forces, Brigadier General Bardhyl Kollçaku, Force Commanders and Directors of the General Staff and the Ministry of Defense.

Minister Xhaçka official visit to Croatia: A new cooperation impetus in the field of Defence between the two countries

Albania and Croatia will significantly increase cooperation in the domain of Defense and Security after signing a Memorandum of Understanding between Croatian Defense Minister Damir Krstičević and Minister Olta Xhaçka during her official visit to Zagreb, which coincides with the 10th Anniversary of Membership of the two countries in NATO.

At the meeting between the Deputy Prime Minister and at the same time Croatian Defense Minister Krstičević with Minister Xhaçka, there were evaluated the excellent bilateral relations over the years, as well as discussing the current security challenges in the Western Balkans.

The AAF on March the 8th, Xhaçka: Give voice to those who do not have

The military girls and women of the Land Force welcomed amongst them the Defence Minister Olta Xhaçka and Forces’ Commanders at the meeting organized in Zall-Herr on March the 8th. They all received dedicated attention this Friday, as their colleagues, husbands and sons took care of every detail.

Minister Xhaçka praised the work and commitment of women in the Armed Forces, thus becoming a model for the Albanian society.

March 7th, Xhaçka congratulates lecturers in uniform: The Academy owns the merit for the construction of the Armed Forces

Dozens of lecturers and teachers serving in the educational institutions of the Armed Forces celebrated March the 7th together with the Defence Minister Olta Xhaçka in an activity conducted at the “Skanderbeg” Garrison facilities.

The Defence Minister praised the contribution of the Armed Forces Academy over the years to the preparation of over 8,000 officers who shaped the Armed Forces.
“Today, every student who graduates from this Academy is not only an officer of the Armed Forces of the Republic of Albania, but also of the Armed Forces of the largest and most professional Alliance known to history, that of NATO. And I believe that there is no greater appreciation for your work rather than the fact that the military men and women who have gone through this academy have managed to represent us in a very dignified way, honoring us and the country, in the NATO staffs and missions,” addressed the Defence Minister to the Academy's lecturers.
